Wireing your grips is only used to stop water and Mud from working its way up the tube.you should also use glue/petrol or whatever to work in conjunction with the wire. Happy Days

Quote:yes, it heps heaps. Wasn’t thinking of making a mould for the swing arm, I was thinking of making one for the tank shrouds, side plates And maybe front/rear gaurds, using said gear for moulds. Thank you for the reply.
Now I have some more things to ponderyep to get the bling factor happening you would need to use a mould. The bike parts you mention would not hold up to vacuum bagging but you could make a mould from them then use that. Its easier to start with something small then work up into the more complicated components.Ps Carbon may be a bit to stiff for your guards,OK for Motard but for the bush I wouldnt do it.

F#@%k Off!!
seriously though, I imported very high quality ones from the states and they will last a lifetime but because our dollar is crap I dont have any in stock and probably wont in the near future. like Dave mentioned .032 annealed stainless steel wire the grade to use is 304
the cheap ones are perfectly ok to useollie

Quote:Question: Ollie, it seems this is rather similar to working with fibreglass, as per stages to layering. Am I correct in assuming that?
Question: Considering the potential effects of the carbonm cloth, What form of Dust mask are you talking of? A:) pape filter,el cheapo ora cartridge type filter?
Question : What material does one use to make a mould from? and vaccuming, what kind of pressure? ( I assume that by applying vaccuum to a mould the top of sadi mould would need a seal and the vaccuum is to be applied from the bottom of the mould ? is that assumption correct?
Thanks for answering…( I am now assuming you ‘ll answer.)PS. I gather that making a cover for the swing arm is basically the same proccess?
I will answer in point form for you.
1. yes very similar to fibreglassing the difference being you should use epoxy resin not fibreglass resin although you can but not as strong.
2.dustmask – a dust mask designed for this type of procedure.3m make em they have a little one way valve on the front, relatively cheap
3. a mould is generally made from fibreglass although anything is possible
4.your assumption is correct
5. if you are only requiring a gaurd to do your own swingarm I personally would not make a mould, I would lay it straight up on your swing arm after removing all of your bits.
6. Google is your friendhope this helps, ollieB)

Quote:Alls good, just didnt understand what you were saying. On that point, we no longer have a HUSKY dealer in town, so basically my warranty is not much use anyway. On that point, no warranty is worth the cost though. I voided mine in the first 10 hrs run time, by changing oils myself. the old shop was still good for replacing my airbox for me though, if I wanted it. On the brand part ollie, IMHO too many people get caught up in ” my bike your bike”. I dont follow racing of bikes mx sx or gp. My bike does what it was bought for. To give me TIME OUT. The size of the bike FITS ME. something ost 2t cant do. Its cheap to maintain, as I’m limited in confidence to work on my bike.( not ability, for most things.) Like many bikes, it has its good points and its bad. but at the end of the day, it performs the job i bought it for, lugging my fat guts around at a sensible pace to explore parts of this area i cant drive to. The hardest part to get over is the fact it’s ability far outweighs mine. The MAIN reason i have the HUSKY, Honda dont make NEW XR 600/650’s, kawasaki 6500 not capable, dr650 same. Drz 400 not enough ability/power. 450’s (any of em) to much bike. 250’s, to small for my hieght/weight. Wasnt left with much choice, the bike has held its own, I’M rapt. Never owned or ridden one prior. Wouldnt hesitate to buy another.Again, thanks for the explaining..not all is as obvious to all.
cool mate, I know they are a good thing just ask Tiny:laugh: and I am a husky fan I just think the big selling point of having 24mth warranty is not what it is all made out to be as long as you are having fun and getting out there and doing it
good onya mateollie

Quote:Ollie, I dont understand that? My bike cost me $11,700.00 new, warranty came with it, a crf 450 costs heaps more, 6 month warranty. Not being the Smartest on the planet, can you explain what you meant for in ” user pays “, for me please? My bikes now 18months old( app), omnly issue i had was the Airbox, they were happy to replace it for me, i just didnt see the sense of it. So in my case, the warranty hasnt been needed at all. It appears most bikes are similarly priced, accross the common 450 ranges…so i dont understand what your comment means??correct me if I am wrong but to maintain your 24 mnth Warranty you have to get your bike serviced by Husky? If they charge you $90 an hour for a pimply faced apprentice to change an oil filter add some oil tighten the spokes and adjust the chain well I dont consider that good value and worth the warranty. Just my opinion, I prefer to do all of the above myself as I know that its done properly.I am a Husky fan (2 strokes) and often ride my brothers 94 610TC which is great,I have never had an issue with Husky imports or R&D as they are known nowadays,I also think the 24 month warranty is a great idea, but you should be able to get your bike serviced at any mechanical service centre, not just authorised Husky dealerships. Dear Employees,
Due to the current financial situation caused by the slowdown in the economy, Management has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 40 years of age and above on early retirement. This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early).
Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to management to be considered for the SHAFT scheme (Special Help After Forced Termination). Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW programme (Scheme Covering Retired-Early Workers). A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as Management deems appropriate. Persons who have been RAPED could get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependants & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance).
Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by Management.
Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much SHIT (Special High Intensity Training) as possible. Management has always prided itself on the amount of SHIT it gives employees. Should you feel that you do not receive enough SHIT, please bring this to the attention of your Supervisor, who has been trained to give you all the SHIT you can handle.
Sincerely,
The Management
Ollie
