Ollie the chain didnt derail as a result of the gearbox did it? The reason I ask is because after it happened on the saturday night I was googling crap and found a article on Gasser 300 3rd gear failures in Europe and the US, I have had a quick look for it and cant find it but I will

    TB

Dont know mate, very interesting though:dry: at the time I wasnt going hard, just working my way through the pack after being a cornerman,I went to overtake itsagas (GG450)around a sweeping left hander and she stopped instantly:( I thought it was just the chain but when we got going again you could hear that it was not good:ohmy:

Hey Ollie have you found what the go with the gearbox is yet???

    Havnt got a cost yet

basicly when the chain derailed it locked up third gear and the driven gear, smashing out a couple of teeth. I removed the engine from the frame, the head and all the other bits and pieces.to keep labor down. it also had a weeping crank seal:dry: Hopefully will find out the cost soon.

Hi Ollie, sought of thought about making one, but didnt want to mess it up. I bought an O-ring…large one that is, and did a weird loop . Scored a bonus, the O-ring is thick enough it also works like a vibration deadener. Bike is smoother to ride?? $2.00 Job :) on the down side, i found a part number for one, I reckon my bike has never had one? just a bit of pissy Y shape rubber which cant hold it still. Thanks all.

great stuff Macguiver:laugh: often the simplest and cheapest options are the bestB) better patent it quickly

TB you sure know how to organise a top ride mate :) , I will have the Garmin in my pocket on the ride, it is a GARMIN MAP76. May or may not come in handy, I see you already know your way around.
Keen to see if the thing works well enough in the jacket pocket anyway.
