If everything is tight ie bearings suspension linkages, gears change as they should and you intend riding it on private property, id say buy it you will have a lot of fun on it.

yes you should it definatley sounds like a jetting issue. The way a bike responds to throttle application is a personal preference,I like to be able to torque thru the crap but also be able to snap open the throttle and get instant gratification when required

JRD,The Gasser should be giving you a smooth almost 4 stroke like transistion, The power band is not as aggresive as say a KTM which has a MX type “hit”,As TB will testafy my bike just torqued up a steep slippery hill last weekend no problems at all.Im having jetting issues at the moment as I like things to be spot.My problems are in the 3/4 throttle position where it stumbles probably a bit rich on the main at the moment, usually when its right it should just be a case of adjusting the air screw when required for the different temps encountered, other than that nada.I will post later a number of different peoples jetting setups and that should give you some indication of what you should try.
if the bike you were riding was a test bike surely the dealership would have had it jetted right you would think?
the symptoms sound like an overly rich pilot or needle position,ie as the throttle is cracked open more air is allowed to pass which inturn leans out the mixture, anyone can correct me if they think that I am wrong:unsure:
