If I were in the market for a new 4T bike I would only be looking at something with Injection, thats just my opinion, mucking about with Carbs annoys me, bring on new technologies
(probably why the CRF’s are going cheap
)

went for a quick ride up there this morning on the South Side, there is now a gate at Maculata, Daniels Point Rd (not far from Watagans forest Rd) and also one on Whitemans also near Watagans Forest Rd. As Eags said the Watagans forest Rd has just been bulldozed and with the recent rain is churned up and slippery as all hell. I can see a lot of bikes will be covering their rego plates and riding around these gates. In all reality it is the 4wd’s that have done the majority of the damage :angry: Flash looking Galvanised gates as well.

Dont get me wrong but a CR 500 in the Bush is just tooooo much motor for a Bush weapon. Maybe a Rekluse would help but a 350/360 would make me a little excited 👿

could you imagine it a 2014 yamaha IT 300 how cool would that beIf Suzuki/Yamaha brought out a 300 with rego Id buy one in a heart beat. With all the new technologies coming to the fore like Injection/leccy start etc etc a new cleaner fuel efficient powerful and reliable 2t bike from one of the big 4 would sell like Hot cakes.
Optimistic Ollie

44301-MBN-670Yep the Top is the same as the 400 and the 650 L it seems.
Who’d have thunk the 650R and 650L would use different parts like those :huh:650L is closer to an XR600 than the XR650R

Well done Stevo
must of been an awsome experience. Also great that your dad could be a part of it. your bike blew those others off at the start line, left them for dead. :laugh:

If you want less than 108 kg and more power then I think a shiny new 2 stroke is in order for you Scotty
Ollie

Bulls Wool wrote:Ollie wrote:Bulls Wool wrote:Kinda along the same lines, I recently replaced my clutch cable and after a short test ride when on a big ride, 250 odd k’s I believe. Part way in, after a good warm up the clutch was slipping quite a bit. I was told i’d need a clutch kit but, after some timely advice from my old man I took some of the tension off the cable at the clutch end and took it for another test ride and it’s completely slip free…. Would I have done too much damage during the ride to ignore the need for a new kit though ?B.W.
Hey B.W what is the condition of your oil ? if its full of metal shill maybe you will. Best bet would be to pull the clutch out and check for fibre thickness, and steel plate bluing (overheating). With a cable clutch you should have 1.5 mm of freeplay at the lever.
hope this helps
OllieYep checked the oil with a sieve found one 1 bit of steel about the 1/3 size of a match head n no alloy from what I could see., Thanks Ollie.
Clutch: friction plates thickness all at the top of the service limit as per the book, clutch plates also as per the book and springs too.
Got the hylomar ready but there are no Torque specs for the pressure plate spring bolts (5 of). Any one recommend torque setting or where too find em… not real keen to do my own “trail mod” is allSorry Moto :blush:
Cheers B.W.What make and model bike do have B.W? (might be handy to know :laugh: )
