Great weekend, we did not get the numbers we were looking for however, the event was excellent. The club needs the support of the wider community to make these events a success.

If you have an old bike and want to ride it in a VInduro event, support the guys who are running these events.

Anyone compared the Berg 390 with a KTM350? I just like the look of the Berg but the tests / opinions of the 350 are all excellent.

This could be the reason why I have seen 3 sets of the Andy Strapz bags fail. Looks to be a solid but very expensive and worthwhile mod.

I use a similar system on the bags I use, stops them moving and holds them against the frames.

    Thanks Mick,

The fuel looks great. I was planning on carrying 42.5 on G650X Challenge . They are better on fuel than the 690.

Our plan is much the same, get the fuel into the main tank as soon as, keep weight to a minimum and loaded as low as possible.

A group from Toowoomba are heading out on 01 July to cross East – West and back down to Lake Eyre returning to Birdsville then Innamincka back along the border to Dirran. Unsupported, carrying everything, riding roughly 5000km returning 11 Jun.

I am very interested in fuel consumption and any other info I can get.

Still got these pants. Keen to get rid of them

They are near new condition only worn twice. Selling because they no longer fit.

I got the TY from Newcastle. Basically one owner. The young bloke I got it from was given it by his father and realised it wasn’t a trail bike. It had been used as a commuter and was regoed lights etc on it. It was covered in rust but the tank is ally and it is untouched and the exhaust cover is also untouched. The bike still has original tyres on it and chain and sprockets. It however, was on 3rd OS and needed another bore. I got an excellent barrel on Ebay from the US with Std bore and piston for $150 and placed that on it. It runs very well and I am pleased with it. I do ride it so one day I will do the frame again and strip the engine for a repaint.
I had the frame sand blasted but the bloke who did it was too rough and I opted to paint it rather than powder coat it. A mistake.
I also used Wurth paint on the engine cases and it is pretty crappy. Needs redoing.

Yes, A D model with a compliance plate.

The IT looks good in pictures, a bit rough up close in places.

CD8 was excellent, a bit wet on Saturday night and that led to a lot of mud and crap lying around.

I only rode my IT and it went very well. I enjoyed the ‘Hard’ enduro loop very much, the climb was very good, much the same as last year.

Try Mitas E-07 on the rear and a Dunlop D606 on the front. I would go that way for the trip you intend to do. I have done it a few times and would recomemend a knobby on the front in the sand. Rear you can get away with.
