I had the shoei for around 20k loved it BUT speakers make my life hell after about 4 hours even tried thin ones which were crap.
Ended up buying an XD4 which has way more room for the ears. I love it but i loved the shoei as much. It’s a lot noisier but I never get sore ears even after 8 hour rides. I do have to wear ear plugs with the Arai but I am getting used to them. I also find the Arai slightly lighter. The eye port seems a little smaller in the Arai, the Arai comes pin lock ready as well.
Both great helmets, if they had built in speakers or more room for speakers I wold still be in the Shoei.
