Hey Wolfie ( no relation )
I don’t think you have a dilemma, your choice is easy, Kato 450 for you mate, you can’t go wrong.Aido, as a Kato fan ( can’t believe I’m going to say this ) I think you should hold off and wait for it, you obviously have blue bones and you know the new yammy will be good, be patient and don’t settle for something else if your heart is set on the blue one.
Saying that just made me feel a little sick :sick:Or have a good look at the kato 350 ( please someone tell me that was enough to redeem myself )

Thats awesome Murph
Please tell us your going to be nice to it for awhile before you throw it into a murphsberg.
I had the thought of hooking my mapping wire up to my blinker switch, it’s a switch that is already there and not in use
Congrats matePTW
I will be there somewhere, I will try to drop over for a beer Friday night.

I’m guessing my 300 would weigh about 150 kilos but if I actually washed it then I would say probably 112 kilos

Hi Rob
I loved my 600 but needed a smaller, lighter bike for the snotty stuff that I like to ride, wrestling a 600 after you drop it on a hill climb took it out of me ( I drop bikes a lot  ) so I got a 300 2t and haven’t looked back, if I could afford to buy all the bikes I want, the XR650r would be up around the top of my list.
I once made the mistake of judging a book by it’s cover, my first ride with old bulls was at Wauchope with Mick ( another bloody XR nut that is on this site) I didn’t know anybody and we all met a mud n tar ( the local bike shop ) and there was these two guys that were on XR’s Mick and Moose, I started to wonder what the day was going to be like?????? fire trail, easy, cruisey, these all sprung to mind especially cause the weather had been crap leading up to it,
Ooohhh how I was WRONG again  that day was bloody awesome and some of the best riding I had done in a long time, we had an XR leading and an XR sweeping with everyone in the middle puffing and having a ball :woohoo:
Do yourself a favour mate and get your kinky XR loving arse up there and have a ride with those freaks:laugh: you will love it :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Ps. I have actually rounded up sheep on a drz 250, It wasn’t even a good bike for that.
rob 650r wrote:there has been talk on this site comparing this bike to others please stop smoking that funny stuffLooks like the DR – XR comment got more bites than expected  One little comment and you XR guys get spinning like you got your shirt caught in the PTO shaft
Welcome Rob, it’s all good fun here mate the XR’s are alright, I have a 94 600 but don’t tell my 300 2t
KTM 300 2t, you can’t go wrong.
Its a versatile bike that will get you to work and back in no time at all :woohoo: easy to put panniers on and off to the cape for that adventure you’ve always wanted  cruising the highway will have you feeling relaxed with the constant ning ning sound combined with that jerking of being somewhere in between power band and not, the vibration when riding on the road is like a great massage with the happy ending included  get it in the singles and nothing else will compare, sooooooo much fun the singles, you will neve look back. I love my 300   :laugh:Sorry, back to earth.
Go the dr650 it will cover all bases, look at TB and Mick, they seem to have a lot of fun on the trails with the XR’s, cant imagine the DR will be any different but it will serve you well on the road as well, ADV or commute.
My 2 cents worth of pooPTW
Looselink wrote:Credit for that log goes to Husky 450 who cut the track so blame him for any bike damage LoL.On saturday Husky450 was leading us through those golden singles to this log ramp thingy he was telling us about  but unfortunately we had a bike give up the ghost and we didn’t get there
Husky cut his ride short and raced home and got his trailer to rescue the bike and rider, top bloke that husky fella, good company makes for a good ride, just ask the mad buggers in the photo above :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Axle and Rocket,it couldn’t have been that hard, you guys looked so fresh and keen on Sunday morning. 😆
Makes our ride look like a ride to the shop to get milk.
I would have pulled over and slapped a for sale sign on the bike and walked away.
:ohmy:GaleyKTM300 wrote:Note :the last vid of Mal5.1 and the pro rider , Mal5.1 was sitting a fair bit from an injury so it may not give the most accurate reflection on its mounting position.I just watch the awesome pro rider up front disappear into the distance.
Great thread King STM
When it comes to mounting i wear a chest mount and like it more than the others but find that the only problem is standing and sitting changes the angle.
When it comes to watching, if they are mounted right then they are all good in that they give different perspectives.
It would be cool to put all of them on the one bike and rider then edit them in together.PTW
You know I would if I could mate but unfortunately the wife has booked me for this weekend. Sorry mate
PTW
Ps. I did try for a leave pass.
