The missus keeps reminding me that the shed was built for the cars and the boat, all of which are sitting in the weather on the lawn.

Sorry Mick but your missus is WRONG, a shed is for a bloke and his toys. 😆
The missus should stay right out of it.

Please don’t tell my wife I said that.

Nice one Ollie, the ony thing I would check with that one is the back plate as it comes down further than others to cover your tail bone and can hit your seat and be a bit uncomfortable.
If you could walk into a store and try one on I would suggest sitting on one of the bikes in the store to see how it feels.
The 661 make good suits and I would be happy to buy another.

This is when buying overseas is a bad idea cause you have to just try them on and see which one suits you.
I buy from overseas but one thing I won’t do is go to a bike shop and try something on then go on line, as much as i dislike some bike shops, THAT’S JUST NOT FAIR.
I have the 661 and it’s been good but is just about stuffed so let us know what you buy as I will be looking myself soon.

    Good luck mate.

I love my bike and have been happy with it from day one, but in saying that when it comes time to up grade I will explore all options,
I had big bore’s and found that in the tight stuff ( which I prefer ) guys on smaller bikes were right up me, so like husky, I went to a 2T and found that I’m quicker and less tired at the end of the day.
A mate of mine went from a 450 to a 250 and he is quicker, I guess when it comes down to it, it’s horses for courses but when it comes to brand loyalty, some people find what they like and stick with it, and some keep searching for that better bike.
In answer to your question ” has anybody changed and regretted it ? ” no I haven’t cause I love bikes and would rather have a postie then nothing at all.

    Thanks Mr Blue
Sounds like I might be on the right track, I knew the petals don’t have an easy life.
I have also change my jetting, thats why i ruled out jetting and thought about the reed valve.
I didn’t realize replacing the petals was a pain in the arse.

I do have a V3 and although I haven’t checked yet, I think something may not be right.
My fuel economy has gone a bit crap and I seem to have a bog in my higher gears, every thing seems to be good and I have a feeling it maybe the reed valve.
It’s no drama to replace the petals but thought maybe look at a new reed all together I also could find that there is nothing wrong with it at all and then it’s back to trying to find out what the hell is wrong.

I cleaned mine, the gasket kit had the Orings for it so replaced them and while I had it apart I thought i may as well tog it up, it was all pretty easy and quick to pull it apart, clean it up and put it back together.

    Thanks Lefty
I wasn’t sure if it helped keep it cool or not as I have only noticed a few guys do it in there 525’s.
Does the needle height in the carby make a difference to the running temp, that’s what someone else said but I didn’t quite understand.

I’ve seen guys run a small bottle in the air box as an overflow tank and they say it works.
    I’m not sure about it.
I have also heard that adjusting your needle ( not sure up or down ) to suit summer or winter.
Someone may be able to explain that better.
