Trailboss wrote:Well much to Pezz’s disgust I have had to shelf the planned resurrection of the XLV. I came down to a few things. Yes I know how the scrapheap works but there is a little but more to it for me. Firstly I have been asked help workout a route and lead the ride. I need something reliable, tried and tested. Secondly we CANT get the parts required. They are a fuel tank and a fuel pump (Pezz may have located a loner fuel pump) but still no tank and its too good a bike that Steve wants to restore later. That means no butchering to make the Scrapheap. Now now there TB, just to clarify a few points above, if I may
It wasnt disgust at all, I was deeply saddened, much aggreived, flabagasted, gobsmacked, stunned, slightly surprised, maybe a little heartbroken
But definately not Disgusted
Love Pezz

Sidetrack Bob (AdvRider) has been on a flood tour for the past few days, decided to check out the venue!

So far I have designed the swingarm and want to run a Kenda ATV Tire – Pathfinder K530 25-10.00-12 (4 Ply) tyre on the rear
Just dont know the speed rating for them . . . .
I will just need to find a suitable bike to adapt it too . . . any ideas?? A bit like a TW200 on steroids
Bit like a Rokon back end with a raked out front end with a 21″er

I have just been to the RTA to see if the event is approved to allow participants to get a Unregistered vehicle permit for the event? They couldn’t tell me but gave me some forms. How have other guys got around rego in previous years? Some of the bikes I have seen in the promo shots for the event dont look like they would pass rego.
It depends on the registry you go to.
My XR460/4 is classed as a Historic vehicle.
Joe Thompson got one for the scare chair, I will ask him how he got it passed, but from memory it was at the 2nd or 3rd registryRider Update

Rider Update
The Kanahooka High School scrapper project is underway. It was a bit of a logistics nightmare getting everything organised by we are up and running. The bike arrived at school today and the students will begin working on it tomorrow. We have a countdown going as you can see from the photo. There is a lot of excitement around the school and many faculties and subjects are assisting through kindly donating their time, expertise and money to the cause. Students in our Small Motor Maintenance Group are preparing the motorcycle. Industrial Arts are providing technical assistance. Geography students are planning the route and the Art Department are painting the motorcycle.
This nice DR600 is on ebay now for $500 Item Number 140711602551. I have no interest in this bike, but looks like it would be a good scrapper. It has a staintune pipe too!!!
