Um I sucked  … but i did just go for the fun of it 😆 . If i havent busted body and bike by next year i will go to compete. There were six girls in total. I just wanted to go to see what it was like. I heard what a crap fest round 1 was, but i thought round 2 was run really well. Not to much sitting around.

    Rach,

I’ve had good wear from my chains etc on the 350.

I change the front sprocket as soon as it starts to wear that way I use two front sprockets to a chain and maybe two chains to a rear sprocket (rear sprocket depends on how much mud).

Front sprocket are cheaper than chains and rear sprockets and worn front sprockets cause increased stress in your chain helping it to wear faster.

I use steel fronts (don’t even know if they make alloy fronts) and used steel and alloy rears and had good wear from both types (surprisingly)

I use x ring chains as they are very resistant to stretching (caused by wear)

    Adam.

See not knowing any better I would have automatically just replaced the whole lot at once  thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the input guys, I took the bike to the shop for the stuff i cant do and they mentioned that it was time for new sprockets and chain. I knew it was coming as i could see the front sprocket was wearing but i reckon there are a few more rides left in it yet.

    > I clean, lube blah blah after every ride
    > Some stuff i wont attempt to do yet maintenance wise … eg my front fork seal had a BIG leak … so even if i cleaned it out properly I wouldnt have felt confident that there was enough oil still in there and I am not keen to attempt changing them yet
    > sprockets and chain i reckon i will have a crack at

I am trying to do more of the maintenance stuff myself (saves $$$$)… i dont feel that confident with just yet  .. but then I doing heaps more on it now then when i first started so i guess it is just a matter of time. Pick the bike back up tomorrow but i think it only has about 1,500km on it but I have been riding in a heap of sand and mud

I will be in touch with Sutto’s :)

Ok i know i am going against the tide here  …. but just another view to note ……

I got my first bike in October last year ….. everyone told me to get a “girls” bike blah blah ….. After a lot of stressing about i went screw it and got a ktm 350excf … I love it :woohoo: and am SO glad i didnt get some of the bikes people suggested. If you think she might love it maybe it is worthwhile getting her something she wont outgrow. I am a bit taller than her but my neice is her height and got the 250 and then got a lowering link and she loves it.
