Geez – I didn’t get to a computer since thursday night & ride is put up & filled in less than 3 days – obviously you have to be very quick around here to get in on ride, especially one that is suited to my riding level.

I still can not believe that I actually got to meet Charley!!!!

I have got all of his dvd’s and I have read both of his books, although not the latest series as I have only seen the dvd.

So I made an impulse buy yesterday (i’m not a big shopper) & bought the 2nd book of the By Any Means series so I would have something for Charley to sign!!! (forgot my other dvd’s – bummer!)

It was really good as Charley was just wondering around the Deus shop so you could just wander over & ask him to sign your book etc and ask for a photo!!!!! Apparently Charley was only over here for 6 days as a promotional thing & was flying back today. Charley & Ewan are planning another adventure probably through south america!!!! Unfortunately Charley didn’t give any hints on far way this trip was going to be.

I think he is a really nice person, it was the end of the day, it was hot & he would have been bugged all day by people like me & yet he was still super nice – just as we see in the dvd’s.

I did want to tell him that it was Long Way Down that got inspired to ride but I didn’t really get the chance and now thinking about it, it probably would have sounded silly…..

Champo & I briefly thought about going riding this afternoon but the beach won the toss!!!

After seeing your pics, and it being too hot to race, racy tacy and I decided to head down and check it out ourselves. We had never been to a bike expo before. We thought we would only spend couple of hours there. It entertained and informed us for many more than that.

Here’s a couple more pics to compliment yours. We saw a lot of things including your brother tiny.

We stopped at a servo for a rest and hung out at this shady spot. Racy saw the ice block sign and asked to have one. She always gets ice blocks and ice creams if she is good.

These 2 backpackers know what to do at a hot servo.

This stoner must be pretty good to ride a bike like this
but for some reason the bike makes me want to die slowly but early. must be the colour combo and little white dashes painted on it

These leco bikes are so light. And powerful. They will have to get past the proto type ice cream bucket look

Racy and I took the opportunity to get ear moulds made. They cut out 40 db of background noise but you can hear your friends talk as normal.

Yamaha always seems to be able to make motors that look ugly. They need to put an engineer with a talent in aesthetics in their team

I love the pics of Molly & Sam!!!!

At times I would love a puppy but it would eventually grow up, & would always be locked up in our yard while we buggered off somewhere – way too unfair for such a cute animal.

From watching Champo through 2 shoulder reconstructions, patience & determiniation will become your 2 new best friends TB!

Sit tight, do as your told & give Salina the keys to your bike locks so she can hide them & all will be sweet! (You don’t want to be tempted for “just a little ride” a bit too early!)

All will be great & we will see you on the bike in no time!

I can only mirror what everyone else has said for this ride – It was a great ride with some great people!

I especially enjoyed the very little dust! (at one stage I actually got a tiny bit excited to see the dust again but I quickly remembered why I don’t like it!)

Thank You to TW for organising the ride & for your techincal advice along the way.

Thank You to everyone on the ride for your patience, especially with Champo’s attempts to get up that hill!

I had a great ride. I was very keen to get advice before the hard stuff to ensure I had the right technique. At times this took a bit more time but I didn’t come off all day so a ride without hurting myself is always a very good outcome!

A definite highlight was the Rolling Race. I wasn’t sure at first as I had forgot to read what it was about, but it was really fun. I became quiet competitive when Kylie came rolling past but I was determined to get back past her! In the end I finished about a metre or so in front, so there wasn’t a lot in it!

Champo & I are really keen to do the loop again (maybe we will sneek out some time next weekend – we will have to see how the weather goes etc!)
