March 6, 2011 at 7:19 pm in reply to: Sunny Corner to Sofala & Cox’s River Rides – 2-3 April RIDE DEFERED #197719Hello Gary,
Count me in at this stage not sure if i will be doing Sat, Sun or both.
Depends on the better half and her planning schedule.:blink:Rebore.
Happy Birthday Mick and Jeffro,
It was good to meet you on the weekend and put faces to avatars.Rebore.
Thanks Mick for a great weekend.
I arrived Friday afternoon to meet up with some Old Bulls that i’d met before and some new ones.
We waited for everyone to come back in from the Friday ride then stormed onto the bus to the RSL.
Good food, good conversation, good drinks.
Saddled up on Saturday for what was going to be a wet ride.
I was in Brownies group and it was all good even the lantana flogging.
Had a chance for a chat on cornerman duty and met a few more Old Bulls.
Got back from the morning run and decided that i was going on the afternoon ride.
We took off into what was going to be an even soggier ride than the mornings efforts.
A few kays into the ride is when i realised my enthusiasm was far greater than my ride fitness.
Threw the bike away twice in some pretty easy stuff and then at the top of one of the hills i found the main bolts holding the handle bar mounts to the triple clamp had come loose.
At this point i knew that someone was trying to tell me something and as i hadn’t taken my antiwoostamines for the arvo ride i headed back to the farmstay with Brownie and Old Mate.
Got back and had the second best hot shower i’ve ever had and joined the bench racing team for the rest of the afternoon.
When everyone was back we headed to the Bago Tavern for a great night of food, fun and good music.
You could tell the Old Bulls in the crowd by the lantana lacerations.:laugh:My thanks go to:
Mick, TB and all others who organised.
Barry and Shirley for looking after us at the farmstay.
Brownie and Old Mate for leading and sweeping in the morning.
The guys who literally ran into me when i got stuck on the hill in the arvo ride, stopped me from sliding back down.
NickJ, Hatto, Paully and STM for realising i was missing from the arvo ride about two hours after i’d already gone back.
Kram for offering to help pay for the $760.00 steak at the RSL. (apparently a mistake or so they said).
Sam for putting up with my dating suggestions on both nights.
And all the new OBTs i met and the ones i had met before for making it a weekend to remember.Rebore.
Hi Mick,
No changes from me.
I will try and be at the farmstay Friday arvo to catch the RSL bus.
I will be staying Saturday night so i am torn between STMs drink fest and the ABBA show at the RSL. :laugh:Sounds good Huskybloke.
Just tell me when!Hello Huskybloke,
F#@$$#^^%%$#@$%%##$#%$%%$$$K it I’m out.
I have my nieces surprise 21st on the 7th in Victoria.
It was even a surprise to me!
And after all that hard work of setting TB straight on the dates.:huh:Oh well at least some other lucky bugger will get to go!
Bugger,
I was hoping to get away with going to Mick’s birthday without having to do the trailer bearings.
I knew in the back of my mind that they should be done.
Now you lot have shamed me into doing them this weekend. :pinch:Hello Scott,
I will probably need a rear after Mick’s ride.
At that price i will come and get one from you.
I will more than likely get it fitted as i am a lasy bastard.:laugh:P.S. i know taht that price is for tyre only not fitting.
Rebore.
Sorry Chris,
Not interested in twitter or facebook.
To be honest i struggle with this internet thinggy.:laugh:Rebore
February 13, 2011 at 4:26 pm in reply to: Mick’s Annual Birthday Ride 4th & 5th of March 2011 #196779I tried to book at the farmstay and a very nice lady told me that Mick had it all under control and that i should keep an eye out for the details on OBT.
Rebore.
I agree with Scotty,
Looks like a boxer motor to me and i thought only the 1200 was a boxer?:unsure:G’Day Teza,
Tough joices there!
As much as getting rid of the wife may fix some of your problems the fact is she will take most of what you own with her so that’s not a real option.
The RMX is a great bike and i used to own one so i have some experience on parting with it.
As yours is registered i am assuming that it is later than a 98 model? the fact they are old technology.
There was a time lag between the sale of my RMX and the purchase of the KTM but the memory was still strong and compared to the later bikes the RMX was a bit of a dinosaur.
What’s this got to do with anything i hear you ask.
Have you considered that the RMX is not as forgiving as you might think.
For their time they were certainly more refined than other models available but they are still a little unpredictable.
Maybe an update to a later model 4 stroke would help to keep you in the saddle (it did for me).
The Yamaha WR250F comes to mind the pre 05 models are well priced sure you don’t get electric start but your used to kicking anyway.
You’ll get usable torque so that you can attack hills at a little slower pace.
The power curve makes slippery tracks easier and they are light and forgiving when you make a mistake. As far as the jinx goes you will be rid of it.
And the wife will be happy to let you ride a bike that isn’t possesed.:laugh:I also suffer from issues when selling bikes, the money gets sucked into some black hole that everyone but you seems to be able to justify.
So what i do is start looking for the new bike at the same time as selling the old one.
I try and line up the sale with the purchase that way i get and spend the cash at the same time (just a thought)Rebore.
