    Hi Huskybloke,
I have spoken to the leader of the opposition requesting time off for a ride during mothers day
I have been told that my wife is not my mother so i am granted a leave pass. :)
So if there’s space i am keen for a ride :cheer:

    Hello Mick,
    “Pad Knock Off”
My interpretation, all discs have a certain amount of run out (you could call it warp) this allows the pads after application to be forced back off the disc a bit to allow for free rotation of the wheel.”pad knock off”
If this run out is extreme it will force the pads back further than acceptable so when you grab your lever the pads will have to travel further to apply pressure to the disc.
The feeling is like having no brakes in the initial stage.
This can be just enough to cause an issue when you really need those brakes.
The problem becomes worse when the pads are worn.
With a large disc run out and worn pads in extreme cases you can get the piston jamming in the caliper.
So the pads will not apply at all.

The opposite of all this is to have no pad knock off which will cause the pads to stay against the discs causing premature pad wher and in extreme cases boiling of the brake fluid.

As i said this is my undestanding of pad knock off.

Well as usual the best laid plans have been buggered up. :(
I can only get one day at the Hampton ride so i have had to cancel my room for the Staurday night
I will be there for the ride on Saturday :)

So there is a room available now if any one wants one.

I HAVE FOUND A NEW RUBBER WRIST BAND THAT WORKS :cheer:
I know i was one of the sceptics but!
I have recently aquired a new rubber wrist band.
Although it doesn’t have a hologram or any other attachment it does work. ;)
It works with your sub-concious to assist you when you are in a tight spot or if you need an extra emotional push. :)
It works better that taking a dose of antiwoostamines.
I wear one and i have a spare.
I would like to donate my spare one to TB as he has had a bad run with wrist bands lately :(
I will bring it to the Hampton ride for you TB. :)

I had a similar problem with the bar clamps on my barkbusters when i changed the fat bars on my KTM.
I tried a couple of different diameter clamps but i couldn’t tighten them up enough.
To fix it i had some stainless steel hose clamps that were the same width as the clamps and same internal diameter as the outside dia of the bars.
I cut off the worm drive and put the hose clamp around the bar.
I tighten the barkbuster bar clamp over the hose clamp and they tighten up no problems.
Because the hose clamp is the same width as the bar clamp you can’t see them and the bark busters are solid as.
I have tested them fairly regularly and they don’t move.
