To my door for just under $190 AUS, and yes everything fitted perfectly.
It was easy to fit.
Remove seat, remove tank, drain then remove right radiator.
Fit supplied fan to supplied bracket with supplied screws, fit bracket to radiator and rivet with supplied rivets.
Remove drain plug and screw in supplied thermostat, attach supplied wire harness to thermostat and plug into spare connector under frame.
Replace everything.Even a Honda mechanic could do it.
Have added the fan kit now, it comes with all the fittings, thermostat, and wiring harness.
Strucky,
The sticker kit was addded by Aust. Dirt Bike mag for the foto shoot, I think it was a custom job, but Ill let Cathi have the last say on that one.
Mal,
All we I was haunted by the Capt Furious comment … ” im going for ONE last lap”, cos I did a few “one last lap”‘s … and each time in the back of my mind Im thinking I might come back to the pits without an arse end
….. or worse.

Bump.
We are heading off to louee at some ungodly hour tomorrow am.
Should arrive midlate morning. Leaving Sunday lunchtime.Roger that, Thought he shipped the XR over too.
Come to think of it, I recall him saying something about keeping the XR in cotton wool
, sentimental reasons.
Didnt want the desert killing his bike.Quote:The best way to deal with it Bruce, is to think to yourself “Dickhead” and carry on as you were.+1
Ive bought the Engine Ice ( from MCAS for $32 ), and the fan kit has just hit Sydney Customs from San Francisco, so I should have it soon.
Am heading out to Louee on Friday for 2 1/2 days of riding – not sure Ill have time to fit the fan before then, but I’ll definately add the Ice.
Dont forsee any dramas at louee with heat, as it’ll be faster riding.
Thanks TB for the update,
So Adrians XR has had issues, and Kat has had none …. lol.
Awesome.
Kudos to you TB for helping ( well, mostly doing ) the updates and pre trip maintenance on the CRF.
Just goes to show that prevention is better than cure.Cheers.
What are the dunny facilities, or do we just find a tree
Assume the girls are being looked after.
Gents,
I think you need to be careful with those fully synthetic ones … do you really want the water supposedly cooling down your engine pumping through it at 190deg C ?
Think Trailboss mentioned something about the ability to absorb and then dissipate heat. Apparently water is the best at this, although we cant have pure water cos of impurities, corrosion and freezing issues.
And that supposedly is the beauty of Engine ICE, contains pre-mixed distilled water and additive.
The fan kit is on its way, I’ll install and report back.
Cheers
Cheers Mick,
Ive read on other forums that some ppl have used it with good results.
My 450 has the 1.8 bar cap.I was knocked back by a KTM parts site in the US to buy the fan kit ( $350aus here, or $150aus from the US ) They said buy it from your local dealer. But I found a Husaberg dealer in the US and have placed the order with them as I believe the fan kit is identical with the FE450.
