Ring small coil rewinds in Geelong, very experienced with all stator, coil and cdi issues.
I’m sure i saw a 23″ inch trail tyre come through our parts dept the other day, it would probably be ok for flat track unless you are hoping to win aussie titles on the old girl. Email Shaun on parts@rockmotorcycles.com.au and ask him as he will probably remember it. I think it was actually sent to us by mistake (was for the other shop in town).
Ride it and a BMW R1200GS, they are the only two (big adv bikes) that can do both road and dirt well. Make your choice from there. I’m biased as I sell the BMW but it’s awesome on and off road.
We have two in stock used at the moment. Go to http://www.rockmotorcycles.com.au and click used bikes. Ones not on there, came in yesterday and is 2010 with 3,000km.
Also have used terra, new sertaos, so be worth a look or call. 0265836655 RorySo far; typical honda reliability and quality. We sold about 8 so far and have had zero issues reliability wise.
They are a touch heavy feeling but there never going to be a race bike. A great all round trail bike / small bore adventure bike.
Theres a heap of accessory gear around too!Unfortunately we have had no contact from my disgruntled customer, something we would have appreciated in person rather than reading on a forum that we have contributed over $1000 in product to help support and drum up a little bit of business. Sour taste in the mouth? yes I feel a little bitter too!
Upon getting to work today I ran this by my staff and checked all my computer records from the days in question, we have very detailed records on the transaction.
Now I dont begrudge anyone a good vent, I get it quite a bit been in retail. I think I usually handle it pretty well but every now and then i get it wrong and learn a lesson. My dads been doing this for 30 years and he always tells me its better to cop it on the chin and give a refund or work something out with customers who have issues rather than sticking to your guns. I would love to do so in this case but again no contact, what should i do?
It is only fair though that we be judged on facts not what has been sprayed on here.
Heres how my records appear, if they are incorrect and you have receipts showing different I am happy to refund the whole lot just to make up for the disatisfaction. Thats right the whole lot in cash!
Wednesday 19/6 4:32pm – we sold a Kenda tuff tube $34.95 paid for via eftpos card. Now all my other Kenda tubes are labelled 29.95 so yes we have stuffed up. I clearly owe you $5 in refund here, however its a little way off your figure of $45. My parts guy explained the $20 fitting charge (not $25) and said we could do it next day as we where nearly closed.
Thursday 20/6 – you came back in to store and yes we had stuffed up and the tube had not yet been fitted. My guys are busting their balls at the moment and we are getting by on 3 people less than a few years ago. They apologised and fitted the tube right there and then and did it fairly quickly.
You paid $20 with a eftpos card again at 12:14pmYou seem to have a different figure in your records of $70 all up. I show that you only paid $54.95 so either you have been charged differently on your cards (although my tills balanced so i dont think so) or you have got your figures slightly wrong.
Either way I am sure that a quick phone call would have sorted it out pretty quickly. Again if you are entirely unhappy I will refund the whole $54.95 in cash.

0265836655The terra is a good thing, it’s basically the BMW g650 x challenge/ gs engine which will easily do 50k with no internal surgery. I’ve traded bikes with that engine with 100,000km and never had top ends off them, albeit they where lightly ridden off road if any.
If you are going to look at tenere than you should look at BMW sertao, it’s cheaper than the yam new and better spec. At least test ride all 4 models in the mix.
Also,
If you could pm or phone me to help me identify who served you it would be appreciated. Most of my staff (90% are off road riders) would have realised that was excessive price to fit a hd tube unless you had asked for the ultra heavy duty.
RoryI’m sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience, if it was our shop than I’m disappointed and can only think there has been poor communication on our behalf (they supplied a uh without telling u?), wrongly labelled part or human error. Either way I’m more than happy to sort it out for you with a refund or credit.
We ain’t planning on retiring early on tube fitting it must have been a stuff up.
Phone me tomorrow on 02 65836655 Rory Rock and ill fix up the price difference. We sell the following hd tubes:-
– Kenda tuff tube hd $30
– Bridgestone mh $35
– Bridgestone uh $45
Prices from memory for 18″.
I will double check with my service dept but I thought we where charging $20 to fit.
If you had mentioned you where obt the guys have been told to knock 10% off parts.Ps. Carton of beer to change a tube, unless you are buying them overseas as well that would be costing you about $35-40 per tube?
Thanks,
The night was a huge success, over 100 people crammed into our shop was good to see. Especially good to see a few obt members made the effort to come along. What capacity was your XR?
How tall/heavy are you?
You should have a look at a TE449/511 if you are a big guy and after something with not too aggressive power but a big step forward in suspension from the XR. Super stable chassis which is very forgiving and climb hills like nothing else. They are our biggest seller and are proving to be bulletproof engines with some road capability as well. Plus the price is sensational! There may need to be an old bulls courtesy bus lol
We have a 1990 XR600 complete for sale. Its in good condition mechanically, the bloke who traded tells me it has a big bore kit in it thats done low km but i cant verify that. Its sounds and feels pretty fresh to me and is not smokey or rattly.
Its all very original in the bodywork and has all original road gear working, it has an xr’s only slip on muffler and its the 2 header model that runs 2 headers all the way to muffler. It would pass a roadworthy if we where to sell it with rego.
Its got a fair amount of corrossion on the alloy on engine cases and other alloy parts but apart from that its reasonably tidy for its age.
If anyones keen on OBT I would sell it for what it owes us, we traded it and have given it a run on the showroom floor but I would rather sell it to someone who knows what they are in for, its not brand new after all.
No rego $1,900. P. 0265836655 speak to Rory.If anybody wants a ride, we have a demo CRF250L. Phone to book 0265836655 or just drop in if you are in port Macquarie!
Not exactly, I think thats probaly because they have recreational rego down there.
