Haha probably true, we all need to do our bit to keep the struggling journos in work lol.

I’m fairly certain that these shoot outs do give some indication of a bikes feel/worth. But I’m also sure that’s not the be all and end all as far as which one anyone should buy, or from who. They must have some bearing on sales though as since the 450 one I’m getting little TE449 enquiry, maybe husky didn’t pay enough for that one lol. It’s a bloody good bike also but one that would feel very different jumping from bike to bike.

It’s just marketing I guess and there’s no way that will stop. Do people buy Hondas cause reedy races one? My experience says the odd one actually does! Same shit different stink.

    Heaps!
2010 TE310 was the old (ie heavier and slower) TE250 engine, it had Marzocchi forks (probaly Kram’s fork seal issue, they had major leaking problems which we found better with all balls triple lip seals).

    2012:-
    *KYB forks and shock
*Revised lower frame section, narrower and much stronger below footpeg mounts, this was changed in 2011 and seem to stop them dragging in ruts and unloading the rear end.
*8.5 litre fuel tank and new fuel pump (10 was like 7.2 or something and had a few pump issues)
*new style 250 X light mx engine, much lighter and more powerful
    *Hubs and rims (visual mostly)
*EFI system is much revised and a 2012 comes with the race kit ecu + 12 hole injector (not fitted)
*12 has Leo Vince exhaust with much improved heat shield at header/muffler joint( old models burn your boot)
*There’s more im sure but im tired now and need a lie down!
    *2012 TE310 $10,990 ride away

Unfortunately I don’t stock dunlops, I can get em but I’m not going to be competitive on price as I don’t do enough volume with them.
Have you tested a set of pirellis? At least when you buy Pirelli you are getting what the factory teams use, not some one off factory tyre that you can’t buy, which is what Dunlop, Michelin etc all do!

Positive reports re a husky on old bulls NO WAY!! Just kidding!
Don’t forget 2012 models are now on sale at rock mc:-
TE250 2012 price may surprise and I have a fresh one arriving this week. It’s basically the same bike as a 310 minus extra cubes.
TE310 2012 are in stock but these will be gone real fast at the runout price.
2011 TE449 are an amazing $9,990 ride away!
    P. 0265836655 if you are in the market, cheap freight can be arranged door to door.

I think you will find they are not that cheap on pirellis anymore. They are bringing in tyres ex a foreign distributor of pirelli via nz.
If any old bulls want Pirelli tyres just email parts@rockmotorcycles.com.au with either your size, bike and quantity required and we should go very close to matching their price. You can even just email us a screen dump (ctrl “print screen” then ctrl v in your email)of your torpedo 7 shopping cart and we will see what we can do.
We buy large quantities of Pirelli from link international who are Australia official distributor. There tyres come direct from Pirelli ie fresh rubber(this is important on pirellis), they are and always have been a massive sponsor of racers and race series in oz, they are been very aggressive with their prices and are not way dearer than usa. we support your site with sponsorship to try to get a few extra sales that I otherwise wouldn’t get so I’m happy to do as good a price as we can.

I’m pretty sure Honda still support the old xl’s on our service tech DVD at the shop. Should be able to fax or email you a wiring diagram, I’d have to check if it’s on there. Can you email me the frame number and a list if what you want and I will see if I can help.
Oh and I was organizing our lever (clutch and brake) perch brackets the other day and I’m sure I have a heap of brake and clutch brackets for those old girls. Do you want some spares, I’d do them at half price?

The jap mx bikes have been running similar system from keihin since 09, huskies tc250 had it last year, not sure if this is identical setup.
Its the hot start lever they have dropped, this engine does run auto decomp and always had.

These things will save something like 2kg from your standard battery and fit right in place. Most enduro bikes have them in positions where losing that weight is worth it.
The model that suits most enduro bikes retails for $159.95 less ob discount you get them for $144.00 and we can freight them to your door (ask when you order as we may be able to cover it if you order a few bits and pieces)

    Hi Rock

Do they have the same punch as a normal battery? as CC/Amps and amp/hours

I can’t remember the exact specs but the model we are stocking is above the standard battery in cca and i think comparable in amp/hours. If you want to research it you can check their own website, just google anti gravity batteries.
I’ve sold a couple already and all good feedback, they actually crank em over a fair bit quicker than standard batteries.

All good mate, we burnt a few good Honda buyers of ours by selling them huskies back then. It bites when you are the one on the receiving end.
The only reason we have persevered is due to the bmw buy out, we have been BMW dealers for a long time and I’m sure they won’t stop until huskies are as good as they should be. Each year they seem to be fixing stuff that is either bagged by the mags or known warranty issues, if they keep it up we should end up with bloody good bikes.
They’re getting better….it should be their slogan lol.

Yeah mate I reckon 7’s too soon for the crf80. I’m not too sure re linkage failure, I assume you mean lowering linkage?
Maybe look at the crf70f as they just came down to $2290 from over $3k. I don’t have much to play with on them but need numbers so if you are near us or an ob can pick up I would do you a deal on it??

Nothing a like a good old fashioned husky bashing lol….
Understand all the issues raised guys but I have to throw a reply back.
BMW purchased husky in August 08 hence 09 n prior all came out of the old ramshackle Italian factory. This Italian run factory was renowned for terrible quality control and crap after sales.
There has been a massive turn around in these areas since the bikes have been under BMW management particularly quality control and parts supply. As each year model comes out of the crate at our dealership we notice them getting better and better, even the crates are better!
Plus the bikes are covered by 12 months parts and labour warranty.
    As for the wr300 issues:-
    -frames are identical on 250/300
-parts pricing has been reduced across the board and the best part is that supply is a thousand times better, we can see on screen what’s in stock here and in Italy and lead time from Italy is miles better approx 2 weeks although pfg are keeping a huge stock of parts now.
-piston kit genuine is now just over $400, brake pedal $134 and there are good aftermarket piston kits now if you don’t value the genuine, however my experience with these 2 stroke huskies is that the piston/barrel/crank are all bulletproof, i have guys ride 98 models in to our store still for services! so I can only imagine your 400km let go was the result of the poor quality control back then.
-agree clutch action is heavy but the things a torque monster so you won’t be on it that much. Who wants a 300 2 stroke that’s peaky?
    – yes it’s big framed. All huskies seem to be that way and suit big guys apart from the new gen 250/310 range.
-bikes now have jap kyb forks which have transformed front end plus more reliable seals.
    – graphics are now in mould so they are part of the plastics and don’t peel
    – sure they have had alot of work to do and I don’t doubt your bad experience. The old ones have bitten plenty and BMW have some work to do to get over the bad rep.
    – resale has never been a prob at our store, we happily trade them in and just last week I sold a 09 wr250 for $5600 which had approx 3000km on it. That bike only sat for 30 days and went to 2 hours away. It was a bike we sold new that was traded on a new husky! So we are happy to trade them back and support our customers so they can keep upgrading, something other dealers ie most orange ones won’t do!
-personally I prefer theWR250, it handles heaps better as the engine power suits the chassis perfectly and there ain’t too many people who can ride a 300 anywhere near potential.

I reckon at that age if he’s ringing it’s neck but you don’t want to get him a race 65 2 stroker….ur better off letting him keep ringing it’s neck until he can step up to a full frame 5 speed & manual clutch bike like the crf80f or similar.

LOL I’m still working on the TEST part Mick, hopefully in the near future I can arrange a 2013 Husqvarna test day, maybe up @ seaview with Husqvarna Australia full test fleet. Think the Old bulls would be keen for that?
