    well done

i had a buell firebolt – great bike, still regret selling it but gravel roads were taking their toll on its bodywork !

How did the drive belt stand up to gravel roads?

no problems at all with the drive belt on gravel roads, loved it, no adjusting, no lubrication, clean . . . .

only problem with gravel roads was stone chips on bodywork

    had it for 2 years
only problems were a failed speedo sensor ( easy fix thanks to google, buell forums & morgan & wacker ), a dead frog in the cooling fan which caused repeated blown fuses, and finding that you REALLY needed the genuine Harley battery – they take a bit of cranking over

beware that most Harley dealers are completely ignorant about Buells, only a few were also Buell dealers

there are some great Buell forums with heaps of info

i do miss the buell !

can you take still shots with the goggles, and how do you view playback ? do you need to download to a computer to see what you’ve filmed ?

well, I’m away for a few weeks ( riding a postie bike from Ipswich to Alice Springs actually ! ) but will strip bike and take frame to an engineering works for a professional fix. While I’m at it a new cam chain & tensioner is on the cards and then I think the suspension needs a complete overhaul. Will be asking some questions then ! !

It will need plating somehow as a welded crack just cracks again. Without pics its hard to know.

yeah my farmer brain is telling me to plate it , but a bike frame is a bit different to planters or chisel ploughs that I do most welding on, so wasnt sure

Roy, I think Bollocks had his old XR break in the same place. I know it got fixed but for the life of me I cant remember what they did. Hopefully Bol might stick his head in here.

I bought this bike from a bloke in Tamwoth, what are the odds its the same one ????

I’ve never been to one of these before but they look good.

Am thinking I might try & get there this year, seeing as how it’s not too far from home. Anyone else going ?

looks like a great ride. Inland northern NSW is my country,( being a farmer from Gunnedah ) familiar with a lot of the areas you rode through, sorry to have missed it, if you ever do another trip up through here I’ll have to tag along

    cheers

Thanks for the welcome guys. XR’s ! I had a 84 model XR250 I bought new on my L’s, a new 92 model, then in a homage to my lost youth I recently bought the 2000 model I now have – why do we ever get rid of the old bikes we used to have. Other regretfull sales are a Ducati Pantah, Honda NX650, Kawasaki Z1000 . . . . .Having said that, the Buell ( Billy Bob ) is for sale as he just doesnt get the use he deserves, as much as I would like to keep him !

Look forward to maybe catching up and riding with you soon
