badbowie & I clocked around 2500 with our trip to Mildura.
Combined with our trip to Alice springs we,ve clocked close to 9000 in the last month for two rides
I heard that they had 200 entries in less than an hour
There must be at least 7 more people wanting to go on this ride.

The Swann Insurance 24 hour reliability trial
It’s on on the weekend after Hattah! go on, you know you both want to! Your more than half way there!
That would be a monumental effort…..you would automatically receive OB legend status!

Once again, good on you Scott and Stuart, getting out and doing what us nangars only talk about and dream of.
Would have liked to be in SA for the following weekend, Unforunately shift work & a holiday roster dictates what I can & can’t do. Also my body at the moment.
Plan is for next year, we are already planning our lighting for the WR’s for 2011.
Big ask pacing yourself 24hours in the middle of winter
May be a couple of other big events to be crossed of the list next year as well.
4 hours for Ironman,
Maybe I should be doing Clubman 2hours or not riding at all as my ribs are sore as hell still.

Theur website is only new so it doesn’t have a lot of info.
So any Motorcycle dealer that has access to Bridgestone motorcycle tyres should be able to get it for you.
We loaded the van with bikes & went out near the 50k mark. We had new wheel sets to bed in & needed to heat cycle the tyres

We went out twice rode a couple of loops of road south & track north each day as well as a run back to the start line to finish each day.
Then off to the car wash
[img]
Friday was spent preparing for Scrutineering
[img]
Then loaded up for scrutineering
[img]
Scrutineering was a shifight, if anyone goes to do Finke roll in around 8.30 as there will be no line up, we waited close to 1.5hours to get our gear & bikes checked.
Saturday was Prologue, a day I’d rather forget & still feeling now, Brand new Fox V3 gracked, bent bars, barkbusters, clutch lever & Scotts Damper billet Sub Mount. All could be repaired excepth the Sub Mount so I rode the bike with slightly bent bars

Trip Report
The van & trailer packed, we had to leave a carton behind as there was no room
[img]
We made it to Broken Hill for the first night.
Camp[img]
Then on to Coober Peddy for the second night, the ground was hard with no grass
[img]
Filling up with Diesel at Coober Pedy, dirt yard with aboveground tanks
[img]
Then headed to Uluru
Crossing the Border into NT
[img]
Went to watch the sunset, the colours are amazing
[img]
The Camp, at least we had grass
[img]
Then up early to see The Olgas @ Sunrise, not anywhere as impressive as the Sunset
[img]
The Sunrise

We didn’t want to pay a premium for diesel at the Ayers Rock resort, we were hoping to make it back to the Highway ay Erldunda to fill up, 70k’s short the fuel light came on & not knowing how much would be left in the tank it was time to resort to the jerry can
[img]
Then onto Alice Springs
[img]
Read it in another forum that they changed engines, no photographic evidence of it though. Too busy with our bikes & hurting from the previous day to be bothered looking at what others were up to @ Finke
Wonka & Grabbo were on 505’s
Price on a 450
Smith on a CPW 530 with rumours of a Berg 570 piston.
Watching the start on day 2 Price didn’t spare the bike as he left with 10 minutes start on Todd, Todd gave his a bit off the line.
What we really noticed was how a the Hondas were short shifted down the start straight.
Will post up some average images
The reason we did it….
This piece of steel you can pick up anywhere along the track

updated I’m 230th & Scott 240th provisional
Scott caught me on the return & we ran side by side for a while until the post dropped out of his damper.
The race was Really Tuff whoops & more never ending whoops.
Now the road section has been removed @ Rodinga there is 20k’s of axle deep bulldust to contend with.
Anyway must go & get the finishers spike for the mantle piece.
Will update when we get a chance
More of the helmet
The helmet
Can’t be bothered using photobucket so….
The bikes
Well I finished prologue witha huge high side half way through the lap, estimate around 100k’s & landed on my head, smashed a brand new Fox V3 now with big grazes & a crack.
Bike was a bit sad, new bars, barkbusters, clutch lever & the
Scotts’s sub mount may need replacing oor the top triple clamp, bars are slightly twisted still not the 20mm as earlier.Anyway I’m starting up the back & will see how I go as I’m still sore from the stack with bruised ribs.
Scott was conservative & is happy with his time & should improve through the day.
Just finished tidying the bikes so will post photos later
