Bought them for Finke this year, sitting in the garage as I can’t be bothered removing the left one to change an air filter after each ride.
Might try them before Finke although I’ve heard you need to ride bow legged when riding down hills & are little help going up hills.
Thought the Pivotpegz would have been nice amongst other stuff I’m buying, at least they came at the right price

Quote:Hey sb I am a little confused which for me is easy  you said that they are gripper then the standard yet took more effort to stay in place?
Where I find my Gaerne boots stick to them like s*&t to a blanket and get better the more I am fatigued when going uphills and sitting to standing?
I know we are all different etc maybe I havent read it right  :laugh:TB
Your right the pegs grip the boots like you know what…..
I found as I became fatigued they just rocked back & forward ie under power the went back. As I said earlier at the beginning I didn’t really notice them, as the day wore on I felt as though it took more effort to stay where I wanted ( yesterdays ride would have been a Grade4-5 single trail with no stops 105k’s)
If I’m not enjoying them no point keeping them, as all other mods I’ve made have been positive, unfortunately I might be the odd one out & say they are a negative for me.
After fitting mine up & riding yesterday I’m not all for them. Day started ok with no real noticeable difference. As fatigue set in I found it took a lot more effort to stay in place.
They are grippier than standard WR pegs so I found moving around on them more difficult than normal.
I also wear Gaerne boots, so even with a big foot I find it easy to select gears etc
Mine will be removed soon,
I might try them with my Stegpegz although this contradicts the design
Did anyone get a reciept in their package.
Was reading about the warranty & I don’t have a reciept, says I’ll need one if I ever have a need to claim.
Mine fiited up easy as to the WR, just needed to drop the brake lever out of the way. The pivot needed a grease anyway.

Quote:sounds like a good ride just had a read of the web site bit like yellow mountain but more dollars and you need three pit crewsYou don’t need any crew as the club are providing fuel at the fuel stops this year ($$$$)
They will also transport some spares to Fuel stops as well as the overnight @ Finke along with your Swag ($$$$)
They also provide meals if req if required at Finke ($$$$)
We’ve taken the Fuel option & will have crew at Finke

Quote:The tap off the standard tank won’t fit?Alloy frame WR’s need to run the fuel tap reversed ie, tap facing inwards.
If you need it facing outwards you need to buy an 03-06 fuel tap
Don’t cut the OEM fuel hose just buy some new hose from an auto shop
On my 09 the front end was bottoming over small erosion mounds whilst stock.
It now runs the Teknik T Valve, standard .46 springs & 5mm preload. I’m also running a Clarke 13.5l tank & weigh 88kg no gear.
The handling is superior, it still bottoms if I land front heavy, asked about .48’s and was told I’d be borderline, with the .48’s being to stiff.
Minimal dive in the front end as well.

My brother & I are running Scotts Sub Mounts on our Wr’s. Had standard mounts on the previous bikes.
Once they are setup, they are set & forget for most types of riding. Although getting your forks sorted first will make a huge difference to how the damper works.
I bought mine for the quicker races, Yellow Mountain, Condo750, Finke. Haven’t had a scary moment yet at top speed (WR tops out @ 148)
We bought ours from http://www.motocrossgiant.com/ They were the cheapest & had the cheapest shipping, They were cheaper than Scotts. Motorcross Giant now have a Sydney phone number to call them direct Australia 02-80035797 1AM- 11AM, They may not have what you are looking for on their site, they will order in if req.
Sub mounts for the 09’s we bought through http://www.dirtbike.com.au/ as the dollar was high & their prices were competitive, They managed to get them within a week, when Scotts had manufacturing delays & if we’d ordered them ourselves we would of waited a month.
Go out to Finke & see what 99% of bikes are running (Scotts)
Anyone thought of a Wauchope to Grassy Head ride, as the weather gets warmer end the day at the beach. Good caravan park there as well
Unfortunately I don’t know a lot of trails in this area. I can get west to the Pub with No Beer, however I still haven’t lokked south towards Wauchope
Couldn’t find a photo of the other Old Bulls on Sally Webers site
I couldn’t believe how bad some parts of the track were on the return trip. Thought if it’s this bad for me it will be really bad later.
The girl on the 140, her bike would have disappeared into the ruts & bull dust, well done for her for finishing
I’ll be there, count me in for lunch as well thanks,
