First thing I’d do then Boll is put some padding in your arse cheeks or maybe some in the seat.
CRF seat is not that bad, there are worse.
Haan would be the other brand.
They are the better hub of the two, they run standard KTM cush rubbers available over the counter throughout Australia.
Talon, have their own cush rubbers, doubt many shops would keep them handy.
The cush not only takes stress off the drivetrain it makes for a much more comfortable smoother ride.
The Husaberg Rallye team had Talon hubs & are changing them over to Haan.
My Safari CRF had a 21 litre Safari tank, that alone could meet the 300km min fuel requirement, it also had an 5.5 litre rear tank, range would be 500+km, the 5.5litre tank replaces the side plates & allows use of the stock exhaust, plumbed up through the standard CRF fuel tap. It would do over 120km on the rear tank before switching to the front

You know your share of tracks, I know who lead us into all the new singles on Sunday & it wasn’t me or badbowie, we were just followers.
Uni Filter Pro Comp 2 air filters are the go, tried a few different brands & these have held up well, even in the worst conditions at Finke they let no dust through, used with Motorex foam filter oil not uni filter oil.
Can be separated for washing, this way you know they are clean, not like others where dust can be trapped between glued layers.
Are a PITA to fit, once you do it a few times it gets easier

Riding down is much easier than riding back out

Now I have finally bought a bike, 07′ WR250F what bling do I NEED??The bike is STOCK standard….
Radiator Guards? Force or Devol or???
Alloy Bash Plate? Are they all the same? Is any one brand better??
Bark busters? Same as above?
Airfilter?What else do you think?
Thanks guys.
Cheers
ActionFrom a 450 owners perspective…..
Force Readiator guards are the go, they’ve been known to replace them for free if they get bent.
B&B bash plates work well although they need the mud scoop at the front filled in, Force sound good with single bolt release.
Barkbusters, Biketique make a good cheap copy, parts are interchangable withBarkbusters, we’ve been running them for a while now.
Definitely look at a TM Designworks slide & guide kit, the rear guide bends easily & can never be bent to be like OEM, the front slide wear well, although TM are tough.
Maybe a TM Designworks rear disc guard as well, (TM gear is exy but pays off with longevity
Case Saver, Force make these, ditch the OEM guard it’s a haven for mud on a wet ride.
After a bit of time, a fork upgrade as they are average & get worse with age.
Braided front brake hose, will make KTM owners weep with the stopping power & feel it provides.
Headlight protector, surrounds are cheap, the lense unit big$$$$$$
Billet Clutch cover, saw a billet one damaged yesterday & if it was OEM it would have been holed + you can put the shiny OEM on when you go to sell the bike
Decent set of grips as the OEM are hard as & with standard forks will punish your hands (Pillow tops seem ok)
I’ve worn the frame on my bike & a set of carbon frame guards, alloy frame guards may be the go in the future if this happens.
That’s all for the moment, will add anything else
KTM_Rules wrote:Looks good Mal. You will have to show me sometime, then we can link them all up!!Even though we were challenged in places, I’m sure you’d make it look easy
For what was meant to be an easy day checking out a few trails, it turned into the an extremely tough ride. A few times I thought we’d gone past the point of no return.
A lot of time was spent dragging bikes & building trails, each time we thought we were at the top of a hill another steep snotty climb loomed. We didn’t cover a lot of distance but some of the trails were awesome.
We found a few more trails that need exploring & hopefully will make an extremely challenging loop with new & old trails.
mal5.1 wrote:Saturday part 1. It’s a bit boring but you get the jist of the tracks we rode. The video makes the tracks look like a grade 2 ride.
What a day, thanks to Mal for organising the ride & Mal & KTM_Rules for leading their sections. and to all that turned up for what were some of the best cHallenging trails in the area.
Everyone got through the day without any major dramas, the heat & humidity took it’s toll on a couple but they kept going.
Got a few more tracks to check out & when it’s a bit cooler we’ll organise another ride.
Some good pictures & videos from the weekend

Mal 1 by malinjected, on Flickr[/quote]That rock in the photo looks near flat, it was the only part of the ride I was worried about as we’d never ridden up it.
First metre is near vertical then a few metres of steep climb
Everyone up no problems

axel wrote:I recognise those straps….
Looks like there were some challenges there. Good stuff. The strap only came out on that small climb, we were warned not to ride that track due to the one section, But we’d riden it less than 2 weeks ago and it was the same as 4 months ago.
It had gone to shit in 12 days
The rest of the track made it worth the effort
