Have a top day mate

Cheers for the video’s Galey and STM!
Now I remember how pristine the track was on the first 2 laps. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face when I got back to the pits. It was bloody dark in some sections though, especially the rain forest just before the grass track. I felt sorry for that bloke stuck in the rut down to his radiators, not sorry enough to stop though.
It was a lot of fun rounding people up. They were better at pulling over the later it got in the day although some did need the “Spud” treatment with some throttle blipping and YEEEWING. I tried to pass Tait on the second creek crossing by jumping off the bank and taking the non-existant left line, only to end up in a deep hole haha
How good was the grass track?! It was better earlier in the day before the breaking bumps formed but you could still round people up at speed.
As LC said, the motocrossers were hopeless on the hills. You’d get 4 or 5 of them on each hill if you could dodge them.
There was a great atmosphere at the event and especially around the pitts with a lot of the Old Bulls camped together. Great to catch up with everyone and have a drink or 20 post-race to celebrate.
Galey, great effort mate! Kimbo, Marty, Goccy and Tait, a pleasure as always!
Who’s coming down to Kowen this weekend?
Part one of Marty450 on the first lap. Mickktm300 is shown until he clears out.Marty450 was a victim at 0:46, moving over on the left. I thought I saw myself in the clip as well! getting done, but the white sideplates put me in the clear.
Looks like a typical lap a few hours in. Spud you handled them well. You had to get them out of your way when you could.Picked off a few on the BIG hill.
The crash looked like a hard one. At least you didnt have to pick the bike up.Action packed video STM. Awesomeness.
Happy bday mate. Been too long since we had a ride.

STORIES THAT THE EVENT SPAWNED IN THE DAYS AFTER THE CHEQUERED FLAG
Bundy,
We started with 2 laps at a time then after a while? we ran 1 lap each. I did 3 at one stage as I pitted to see Mick with his helmet off and fuelling up his bike and munching on something! I rode through for another lap.
We found we were too smashed to do the 2 without making mistakes and going slower. Mick gave in first! Carried less fuel on one lap, no camelbac, even though it was hard to get a chance to have a quick drink. My bite valve failed on my first lap dumping gatorade and water on my crotch and into my boots!
You would need to compare the lap times, but traffic and line choice played a big part, to see the 2 lap one lap distance.
I figuured we just ride consistently all day and we end up were we end up. I knew there had to be Pros ahead of us and I was right , starting with the lads in 7th!
The first 6 hours was a race, carving it up, roosting everywhere having fun, then after that is was DIE BEFORE DNF!Hands cramped up bad as well as my quads started seizing up. I had some Endura gel which helped I think as well as some magnesium tabs that Tait had. They may have been too late to be effective. S neck as well, maybe from looking at my front wheel to much.
I took a filter skin off my filter when I felt it running on, then changed the filter 2 laps later. Just about to replace it for a ride this weekend!
Glad they took outthe boggy section and addded the hills as they were fun and good to pass riders. Funny getting to the top and seeing red faced riders looking at you in awe/ disbelief/ respect. GO THE 300’s.
I got to met Spud for the first time and as I told him , he is not as short as I thought he would be. Top bloke and all.

AJ helped in the pits as transponder changer, goggle cleaner/ tear-off applyer, food bringer and drinks lad. He also had the cool job of putting ice down my jersey from the 9 hour mark to cool me down. Worked a treat.

The Gang check out the pit setup.Bundyroy wrote:Hello again all.It was a good event. Conditions were the complete opposite of last year. Dry and dusty was the order of the day. Course was very rough by the end. There were some good challenges and single trail. We managed to come 7th out of 62 in the pairs and 30th out of 190 odd outright. Very happy with that and very sore to boot. We just managed to beat the bloke who won ironman. Blows my mind how tough the ironmen must be. I was that far gone at the end of the day I could only drink 2 beers before hitting the sack. Then I couldn’t get to sleep until my brain had re-ridden two laps of the track. The pit crew reckons I did 3 laps in a row in my last stint. We were only doing two each but apparently I had lost the ability to count.
A bit dusty at the end of a long day
Great result BundyRoy.
Mickktm300 and I (#257 The Dirty KTM 2 Bangers ) were two spots behind you in 9th by 14 minutes. 9th/62 teams is pleasing. Totalled 27 laps.

Marty450 and Gocman ( #206 Bush Bashers ) completed 13 laps but had a DNF result.
Gang members Kim & Tait ( #246 Tapped Out) 34th/62 teams.

Not this weekend OG.
I do some riding at SC during the week and could do a very easy Firetrail ride for you at some stage if it suits you. 3 & 4th of April would be the next opportunity for me.
My Mad Monday Rides are a different kettle of fish all together.
Actually scratch the 4th.
