    Nice work KTM.

That Bog section caught a few out.

I have the same camera as you and I thought you were getting videos, then the pics were released, now the vids. I am guessing you took the pics from the vids?

Looking forwards to the next vids.

Funny that. Sometimes we would pull up to regroup and there would be a gaggle of KTM’s waiting for the others. :P

Usually follow the guy in front as single tracks only have one line.

Hills = I end up with my own line.

Hard Hills = watch the local pros line/ cleanest/ grippiest.

Fire trail = the most fun line.

Leading = go as fast as I can see safely ahead on any line but stay left on fire trails and crests.

Mal’s Central West Ride – Sunday Ride 70km

    Part one

This was an awesome ride in which we rode a mix of terrain from fast flowing, twisty fire trails, rocky rutted hill climbs on fire trails to perfect pine forest single tracks. I even threw in a couple of tough hill climbs for the hard core to try their luck at.

We headed off into the logged pines with a hardy group of twelve riders being , Mal5.1 “Can Ride” (Heavily Blinged up Christophe Nambotin GASGAS 300) Marty 450 (KTM450) , KTM_Rules (KTM530),Holeshot(DRZ400) ,Pete(KTM400),Tim(KTM200) ,CJ( KTM200),Dude(KLX450), GOCMAN (KTM300), Murph (KTM500),AL (KTM450) and myself (KTM300) sweeping first.

The first hill was a slippery red clay bugger, no rocks but slippery. Pete lost drive and fell over causing Gocman to go off track to avoid him, only to fall himself. With a restart on the slope impossible a re-run was taken by the lads. Gocman did it easy with Pete having trouble again stopping in almost the same spot. I told him to walk up and I would ride his bike up. 3rd gear was the go then madly spinning in 2nd for the rest of the climb. Finding an easy section to park his 400, I went down for my bike and had the same fun again.

A short firetrail section led to another hill and more carnage. I am not sure what caused it but Dude, CJ, Tim and Al were all fighting for the same piece of forest.

KTM_Rules was given the task of leading us into the singles by Mal and he didn’t hold back, charging straight into some overgrown sections. After a bit of hard going we turned back only some of us found turning around a bit hard and Pete and I lost the main group. With a bit of Bear Grillis survival work we got going the right way, when the familiar sound of the mighty GASGAS came our way.

Skirting the extremes of the forest we peeled off into the nirvana that is the Sunny Corner pines with singles stretching out before us. Perfect conditions allowed the group to feel their way through at a steady pace. Murph was chopping at the throttle of the 500 looking for a bit of clear track.

We came out into a cleared section which was a little swampy, when Marty 450, thinking that I was behind him, unloaded the rear tyre with a spray of loamy dirt into the path of Pete. I laughed my head off. A fire trail stint led us the servo to refuel our bikes and bellies.

KTM_Rules rides bloody fast and handles that 530 well.

I learnt a bit in our sess at the end of the end of the day. I came up to a huge log and thought about going around it, but KTM attacked it with the 530 and did it like a pro. Time to man up I thought and handled it OK. I dont even think KTM looked behind to see if I made it or not.

We found one logged section with a big soft hill and talked about a new hill for Mal3.0. I got halfway until it turned to crap, KTM did the same then found a better line and made the top. The guy can ride ;)

All legs just like his Dad.

Love the suspension bounce to get the 2 stroke to rev quicker.

Just don’t teach him everything you know Bob.
