this could be called an adventure ride of the extreme kind
I have visions of long ,steep slippery as all f red clay hills with tree roots and carnage
and on the other side out of control slippery rocky downhills with raging riversWoo hoo Team extreme (Bit like exreme fishing with Good ole Robson
I will have some old in the shed BOB. How is the rear tyre???????
Ev ,we are planning on coming up via Armidale. Is it the best way with the flooding or go the coast rd?
Great that we will still get some riding in Ev / STM. It is a grade 5 ride after all. I think a brand new rear tyre might be compulsory for this weekend.
Show me the hills Galey
Lads ,
Bob and Galey are cleared for departure early Thursday morning to arrive in Bello at midday. Hopefully get a ride in the arvo. Plans are to leave Sunday after a morning ride dependant on the weather.
We are staying at the Federal pub.Newish 952 front fitted with a new pirelli mx extra for the rear for my 300. Good for 100+ kms but will bring a bottle or check out the BCF bottle.
Grade 1 post no dought!
Oops my mistake Murph. Those firetrails that you ride sure look like they haven’t seen a grader for a while!
EV, Will the infamous widow maker be in the mix?
Nice. Murph , I will be picking your hillclimb brains for tips and bike setup tricks.
Wolfie , you can come anytime you want with me and/ or Mal5.1. We all started crawling before we could walk then run. We had a new guy, new to bikes, start riding with us in 2011 and his speed/ skills and fitness is 50% better than when he started. A fast guy I ride with told me that you should ride with guys/girls quicker than you as you learn lots from their lines , bike control and they usually like to give you tips to help out. NEVER worry about slowing rides down . Accidents can happen if you ride over your skill level. So long as you enjoy yourself and get back in one piece .
Rant over
Galey
Change of day to Friday
Ev, I will be able to confirm on Monday.
Hoping to travel up on Wednesday, work permitting, ready for 4 days of riding and camping!galeyktm300 = 1972galey
January 14, 2012 at 11:23 pm in reply to: Why the corner man system and sweep riders are so important. #214494Wow, that was painful just watching your vid Nato , they were going nice and slow except for the 2nd guy who was all racey! Just as well you didn’t foul a plug behind them.
As for the crash , it looks like the guy going back jumped before the corner and didn’t have time to avoid the other guy.
Rest up Dejay. It looks like you will need it. You gotta watch those Kato’s mate when they bite , they bite hard. I found a loose nut behind the handlebars caused my highside on the B’day ride!
Serious stuff aside, Chris tell me you got it on video! :silly:
At least you saw 2011 out with a bang!

But I don’t think I would be anywhere near a good enough rider for that kind of track. The small track KTM_Rules built for the last round of the OBMCC was hard and intimidating enough for me thanks.
You going for a look?
If my cunning plan comes together I will be riding the weekends either side of that so I wont be going Mal. You should get a good view of Melbourne from the Casino Penthouse!
Not many riders listed yet Mal. Maybe you should take the GASGAS 300 down and wave the OBT flag. How are you travelling down Mal? Car?
