Murph , to my knowledge the map switch gives you access to the rain setting or softer. I didnt notice any difference when i use it. i also broke the button somehow. save your money or do the mod the cheap way without the ktm map switch.

    congrats on your new Katie.

    Friday at Camp Galey

Arrived early and set up camp. I staked out a large area for all the OB and Bathurst lads. Turned out that another camp was set up at the Rally site. Oops. Sent a pic to the lads to show them that I was kicking back and they were still at work. Note to self: don’t get there too early as I had no one to bench race with. Still the beer was nice and I had no one to argue with. At least I could watch the kiddies racing around and buzzing my camp on their Honda race bikes!!!
Unloaded the mountain of fire wood and cut some more with the chainsaw. Just to get me used to the 2st zing and to make my own noise. 👿

Clarkeyktm turned up and mucked around getting things sorted. I shoved a beer in his hand when he arrived to get his weekend started. We kicked back to wait for Gocman to roll up and cook the BBQ. We met a nice bloke called Daz who camped near us until he found his mates that were coming to the rally. Well he just made some new mates. Other than being a Yamaha rider he seemed cool enough to hang around, which he did for the rest of the rally even when he found his mates camp site. It must have been the OBT spirit.

Day turned to night and finally Gocman arrived to cook said BBQ. A couple of lovely T-bones and snags plus some greens were downed while we chillaxed by the camp fire. The beers and JD flowed until commonsense forced us to our swags ready for the trails on Saturday.

The 511 is only a 477 :( i know lots of bikes have rounded figures and marketing likes the sound of certain numbers but that’s pushing things………….

Both new bikes are close on price atm.

My local shop at Bathurst has a 449 demo for sale for a sweet price. I have ridden it a few times and it puts the power down really well. Traction city. The back end just does not deflect or jump all over the place. Havent ridden the 511 but i am sure it would be more fun. Spoke to Dean in the shop yesterday and he had not heard of any issues with them yet. Muffler gets damaged if you drop it on that side.
bit like chalk and cheese when I ride it after riding my 2st.

It may not have the snap like your Honda but nice and torquey.

    Have a ride of one.

    Cheers

Sunny corner loam  stone king should sponser the rally. Did any one win any prizes? maybe a 450? heard the numbers where down, better odds ;)

An old fella won the 450 which was nice. he got a nice round of applause from the crowd. the 50 went to a bikie type guy who looked like hadnt stopped drinking the whole weekend.he really hammed it up on stage with a few big :woohoo: ‘s . anyone who had a entry in the 600’s scored a prize. the pro alloy trailer went to a guy who had to borrow a trailer to get to the rally. ;) Clakeyktm scored a bike pack :P

must have beeen 700 odd riders. didnt seem like it on the trails .

NFHU i live 20 mins away and yes saturday was just as good as sunday. some arrows were yet to go up but our group (The Awesome Foursome) had fun piecing together the loop from the sponsor day. An extra night camping is a bonus as well. B)
