I turned up on Friday afternoon to find out the ride had been canned. Seeing I was already there with my camping gear I set up camp in the pines, kicked back and had a couple of quite drinks. On Saturday morning I decided to take the opportunity to take the RMX for a quick ride by myself before heading home.
Out on the trails I can across some yokel. I figured if I rode the same direction as him it would be safer for both of us. It seems a few others had the same idea and we followed one another around some fine trails and had a some laughs.
The rain didn’t bother me at all when out riding but now I got plenty of wet gear to get dry.

Welcome Chef. I am from the bottom of the Blue Mountains and ride up your way and beyond. Not a shift worker by any chance are you. Most of my ridings done midweek and sometimes struggle to find other midweek riders.

Shit Teza, thats no good. I was looking forward to having another RMX rider to play with at the birthday. Get well soon and get back on the horse.
The Husky spent the day at R&D getting derestricted and having a bit of bling added.
First up they ripped out the O2 sensor, plugged the hole ,added a resistor to the wiring plug and remap ECU to suit. Then off came the standard can/cat convertor. I put it on the scales when I got home. It weighs over 4kg.
Then on with a nice free flowing Barrett. To my surprise the Barrett pipe is as quiet as the standard. A bit deeper note but nice and quite. Note sure what it weighs but I bet its no where near 4kg.
She is running much nicer now. In standard form it was very snatchy on the throttle, would surge when cruising and backfire like a bitch on deceleration. Now its runs as smooth as silk. Cruises at 110+ and feels like its barely idling and no more backfire when I chop the throttle. Plus the Barrett looks fully sic brahhh.

I only ask because I said to lefty the other day at Sutto’s that road helmets (any) are the best, dont leak, are quiet and light weight. Trouble is you look like a KTM 690 riding poofter in one on an adventure bike  :pinch:TB
Ive always though the same TB. Plenty of great road bike helmets out there that would make very comfy and functional ADV helmets but they just look wrong. We all know ADV is all about the image.

Nick
Happy so far Nick but only just getting to know the big girl. A few things I want to do to it but first thing is to get it running the way Husqvarna intended then get out and ride.
I rode today on open dirt roads that a Commodore would have no trouble with (in fact I overtook a Mercedes Benz out there) but it felt good and has mega torque off the bottom. Everything is still very tight, it dead set fells like a brand new bike, even has that new bike smell.

however the lack of a visor is a pain so I’m saving for a AGV AX-8. Though about the cheapies but quality is worth saving for.NFHU, be careful buying helmets OS. Currently if they don’t have the Australian Standards sticker they are not legal for use in Australia even though they are the exact same helmet from the same factory.
I believe the Australian Motor Cycle Council are currently pushing for oversees standards (which are more stringent than Australian standards) be recognised here in Australia. Finger crossed this will happen and we will no longer be ripped off the helmets.
I snuck out for a bit if “riden” today. Need to get the Husky up over 1000km before I take it down to R&D to get it de-restricted. She already backs into and out of corners nice. Cant wait till she’s breathing proper.
These would add some style and class to that orange puke.
Seriously though I like a half waffle style grip.
A Barrett pipe will be getting added to my new Husky real soon. I recon a black can with red tip will look sweet.
