Just to add to the CC oversight is it just me or does the bike in the picture in the first post look very different to the one in the link?
At least your thoughtful .
Now the DRZ is gone I will throw rego on the RMX and will one day attempt to get up an ride them hills around Tamworth with you fellas.

You used to be a man, mans not worried about throwing around a bit of weight. Now you have become a limp wristed, soft hearted girly boy who thinks Orange is in fashion. Man up ya big poof.
Yeah I remember you trying to run me over. Its also the bike that went to Hill End and back when one certain XR650 come home on the back of a ute,
As I said toying with the idea of a roady, never had one before, but my eye keeps drifting towards the DR650. Once the dirt is in your blood its very hard to get out.

As for replacing the DRZ I am toying with the idea of something more road orientated (yes a road bike),

Has anyone else discovered a Tenere engine/ trans issue like this?
Wonder if a larger oil cooler would help?
Zoro I’m not sure if you fully read Leftys post.
The cause of the failure was the bike had previous accident damage on the motor and some debris from that damage was still floating around inside the motor finally making its way to the oil pump causing it to seize.
An oil cooler may be good but won’t help in cases like this.

God read from NickJ on the go from his phone no doubt
Keep it coming guysIts ok Beags if at Dakar they could claim to be French them complain that every bump on the road was not in the road book and they would get their time back.
As for Nicks Ten its sounds like he is lucky some of that gear got into the clutch to make a noise otherwise it may have been much worse.

How top make yourself look like a gun rider.
1. Buy a light weight 250 4 stroke
2. Invite a guy on a DR650 on a single track ride.Get a wig.
I think Jeffro is the man to ask on this question. I believe he has owned both in recent times.
I would say looking at both bikes they are very similar other than the Honda having better wheels for off road work. I doubt it will be better the your KLR off road.

The earlier the dates are posted the easier it is for me to arrange as I don’t get to many full weekends off.

I still got another 2 weeks leave when I get home so may organise another ride up there later in the month.

Ya have now.
Have you looked at the Yamaha FZ1 Fazer. They are a middle weight sports tourer with a detuned version of the R1 motor.
They have an upright bars mounted to the top triple clamp rather than clip on’s making it easy to adjust bars to suit your riding position.
They also have a decent pillion seat and earlier models go for a modest price.
On the issue of downsizing, technically I fit the criteria to make that list. 400 down to a 250 but mine is a smoker.
I still have the DRZ but may be finding a new home to make way for a roadie.
