Well sitting here enjoying a few bourbons after a long day dealing with f#*kwits I’ve decided I am up for a good ride this weekend as hallaluya I have a weekend free. I’ve enjoyed Sunny Corner in the past so it sounds like a plan.
I need to get some shit organised tomorrow to make it happen, if I get that done put me on the list.
Can you still ride on Saturday? If you can I will be up about lunch time Saturday for an arvo ride.
Hey why where talking weight, did any of you fat bastards happen to step on the scales,
I probably shouldn’t be pointing fingers,

Not getting into a pissing contest, like you I am sceptical of claimed weights. You just need to be sure if your quoting figures there for the correct model. The problem we have in Aus is some manufacturers claim weights for OS models when some of our model are unique, like our DRZ400E, it is not released in road going form anywhere else in the world.
We all know the DRZ is a heavy bike and you would be surprised how much the ADR gear weighs with 11-12 kg in fluid that leaves about 8-9kg of ADR shit to make up the 20kg you talk of. With all the extra wiring, bracket, switches, bolt and associated parts to hold it all together. That sound about right to me. Its not just lights and blinker and simple stuff like Honda and Yamaha add to there bikes. Suzuki find the biggest, heaviest, most over engineered shit to add to there bikes.
If you look at the US DRZ400S model, which has the same road gear as the Aus E it has a claimed wet weight of 144kg.

I thought I`d throw it out there that I got my GPS & Heated Grips installed & wired up:laugh:
Just in time for the warmer weather too :side: (it`s still chilly some early mornngs at the moment)
Bloody attention seeking KTM owners.

Just on the claimed dry weight for the drz400. 119kg is for the US spec E with has no ADR shit, doesn’t even come with speedo. Wet weight for Aus E is 138kg with 10 litres of fuel. Given the bike you weighed has a rear and panier racks, a bash plate and big tank which would weigh more than standard then add an extra 5 litres of fuel and i’d say Suzuki Australia have over estimated the weight of the DRZ.
How come we didn’t see the Tenere hit the scales, don’t they go that high.
September 11, 2011 at 12:17 pm in reply to: Mystery ADV ride this weekend 17th and 18th of September #208526I would have been keen for this but not really geared up for it yet. As I finally have a weekend off to myself I will probably still take a run out that way somewhere on one of the days.

Aido I think you will find with the WR’s they arrive in Australia with the small non ADV headlight and Yamaha Australia get them ADRed here. Thats when they fit the large headlight and put the small one in the spares kit. Bonus for WR buyers.
I’m another who has put the original DRZ light away as I heard how much they cost, that and the fact the whole assembly weighs about 2kg. I picked up an old RMX unit for mine.
If you think the light is expensive don’t smash the digital speedo assembly they cost the wrong side of a grand. I got a Trailtech Vapor on mine, again there is more weight to be saved here.
ps, I just noticed this thread has been dug up from the dark ages.

Quickest bike I’ve ever ridden in the bush (not talking about firetraps here) is still my old XR250, just hold it on and shift. All 18HP of fury.
Ah, a tractor riding pot stirer, very well. I’m not sure there is anybody on here that owns a DRZ250 so not to mant people to stir. That being said……………
Seems as though the DRZ just cut a lap as fast as a mega dollar enduro machine. Rob, maybe the problem with your DRZ was the nut that turns the throttle.

All good advise on here. Make them contact you and never meet them at home always a different location. As for spam when selling set up a spare Hotmail or Gmail account just for this purpose. If you have an old mobile phone get yourself a cheap prepaid sim card and use this number for the add, when you have made the sale throw it away.
You would be surprised how many people fall for these scams. We get people in at work everyday wanting to report being ripped off. When I here some of their stories I want to tell some of them they are victims of their own stupidity.
Hey Krusty, hows the Seat Concepts seat go?
Another XR650, its becoming like a bloody combine harvester convention in here.
Welcome aboard Rob.

DR/XR. John Deer/Massey Ferguson, a tractors a tractor any way you look at it.
