I got no idea who it is but it looks like a 1200GS to me not an 800.
Smells of a PR exercise to me. When they go after prosecutions they do this in a much more covert manner. Either way the more of the shit they burn the better. Less people I have to deal with that have cannabis induced schizophrenia.

No picture rocket but I here they could use a few water pumps North of the border.

I’ll be down there as of tomorrow getting in some MTB kms around Mogo.
Don’t discount soil erosion as a big issue to land access. Sure noise is a problem when riding within hearing of residential areas but when riding out in state forests and bush away from residential areas I would say soil erosion is the key issue and I no for a fact one of the main problems land conservationist look at and fight against.
Just recently our local down hill MTB track was closed down, no noise problems with MTB’s. The argument the greenies used to have the trails closed was soil erosion.
If we go around believing we can put quite mufflers on our bikes and tear up as much bush as we like than we will see more and more land closures.

This must be a Friday bike. I expected mine to look like that but was surprised and impressed at how well mine were packed. As Rocket had pointed out this was not the case with my old XR250. The steering bearing and swingarm linkages were dry as a nun’s, well you get the idea.
Looks like another DRZ desert sled is born.

Gary, I think you misread my post. Your Australian E subframe is basically a S/SM subframe so should fit no problems.

TB I was really keen when I seen this ride posted and I am on 4 weeks annual leave so work is no issue. Problem is I will be in Batemans Bay with the better half and my kids so looks like I will miss Hampton once again.

The only thing wrong with the electric idea in each wheel is all that un-sprung weight. Even If the bike was lighter all up I think they would have trouble with suspension. Just thought I would throw that in to muddy the waters of this all over the shop thread. :laugh:Yeah I see where your coming from but surely this would be no heavier than a hydraulic hub they are also testing and was used on the 2WD Yamahas. Either way KTM are playing with the concept.

TB is putting the DRZ back together with the Tekniks forks. He has also done the rear spring and greased the steering bearings. We may even get time to fit the new safari tank in the morning. Greg has come across a set of panniers and bags at a good price. The seller says they will suit a DRZ400S or SM. The question I need answered is, will they go on my DRZ400E ?Can anybody help me here.
Cheers Gary
The Oz DRZ400E pretty much has the S subframe without pillion peg mounts. This subframe extends further under the rear guard to support the extra weight of the rear guard extender and tail light/indicator setup. The US E model does not have any of this shit thus the subrame stops at the seat/muffler mount and can’t support rear racks.

Quote:The format for this event is taken from the MTB model which has and continues to be massively successful. You can take it as seriously or as casually as you want. Unlike a traditional event that can be intimidating to the average punter this style event is very inclusive. I wish I could be there but unfortunately I can’t get to Batemans for that weekend but if you can make it I am super keen to hear how it goes. If it proves as popular as it has in the MTB world then you can expect to see plenty more of these events in the future.STM
As STM has stated this is a very good format and is used for everything from 4 – 24 hour endurance racing in MTB.
My only concern for this event, with dirt bikes 10km is the relativey short loop. This is about what we use for MTB. For dirt bikes this is going to mean very short lap time and depending on the number of bikes running that will be a lot of laps over a 12 hours period. How well will a 10km loop hold up to that type of abuse from dirt bikes? Has the potential to become a 10km rut.
Looks like Jake Smith is the last Ozzie running. Simon Pavey has dropped of the results list for stage 9.
Perhaps a team Banana is in order.
I’ll be in Batemans Bay on Saturday for the week. Will be taking my MTB as there is some awesome single down there but sadly the Banana is staying home.
