    Very sad news.

One of my fondest memories from when I raced was getting the chance to be lapped muliple times by McFarlane at the Picton Thumper Nats in 2000.

    RIP legend.

Why do people always mistake our laws and rights for those of the USA. No right to freedom of speech in this country.

Racial and homosexual vilification laws are just a small sample of not having a right to voice your personal veiws.

As for the political debate, I’m no smoker and don’t really care, nor do I religiously support either side of politics but I think history has shown both side of the parliament have upped the tax on lung bungers (and alcohol for that matter) over the years.

I still say “If it’s feral, It’s in peril”.

I watched a show the other day on Cain Toads. These things are spreading south at a rate of nots. I accually think they are facinating creatures but if I come across one, I am not assamed to say it will die in any manner I am able to dispose of it at the time. Same as I will use mice and rat traps if need be.

You think when you out the bush ripping up the single track you havn’t taken out and left behind to suffer the odd lizard or snake and the like. Does that mean we should give up dirt bikes.

Just like there are dickheads who ride dirt bikes and do there best to f#*k it up for the rest of us the same goes for recreational shooters.

Now shooting animals is not a hobby I am into but I do respect the responsible people who enjoy the sport just like I like to be respected for the responsible manner I approach our sport with.

My ex-wife is an Environmental Scientist who used to do studies for National Parks on native wildlife. The reduction in numbers of alot of our small marsupials can be directly associated with the spread of ferils. Any body who is helping reduce the numbers of ferals is fine by me.

I don’t why we’re allowed to shoot innocent deer. I can understand a bit more if an animal is considered a pest but still don’t see a need to kill it in a inhumane way where the animal has to suffer.

We lock people for up cruelty to dogs and cats, why should other animals be different?

Im not a fan of hunting either, but when it comes to feral animals, a yes dear are feral, I have no issues.

Yes you can argue that its inhuman and they suffer. But in times drought such as we have now these animals compete for food with our native marsupials. This can result in the suffering of our native animals.

Better to get rid off the animals that don’t belong here I say.

Mate, have you run the shuttle yet. If not get out and give it a go. Your local netball court is the best place, they are 30m long and are divided into 3 sections. I’m sure you can even figure out 2 sections = 20m.

6.5 should be pretty easy but I find the best way to lift your level is by doing hill runs. Find a nice steep hill, about 40-50m long. Then sprint to the top pushing as hard as you can go and jog/walk back down. Repeat this 5-10 times depending how you go.

Do this two to three times a week will help build your cardio.

Another way is to do the higher levels of the shuttle. Start at say level 7. Do this level then recover durin level 8. Then do 9. Recover 10. Do 11, ect.

Again this will make you push yourself and build cardio.

    Good luck.

A Honda rider on a BMW would be like feeding champagne and strawberries to pigs.

Seriously TB, just get the XT660Z, you know you want it. I’m betting you will look at and test ride everything else and still get the Yamaha. Just do it.

Freeze, you don’t state if the susension has been serviced in the 7 years since the bike was new. If not I would get the forks and shock serviced. These both also have oil that would need changing after such a period of time.

I’ll put an unashamed plug in here for Techniks. Your local shop may be more than up to the tasks of servicing the suspension but if you want to send them to the experts, Techniks are highly recomended and look after OB members

Ps, I have no affiliation to Techniks other then I have had 2 bikes done by them in the past and love their work.

Now that is sweet. I can also see a big dualsport bike in my future but I would also need pillion cumfort.

The big tank isn’t a thing of beauty but it looks ok. Thing about the 690 is its still a very capable offroad bike, In standard form I could do most things on it that I do now on the DRZ then add a few extras and head off on bigger adventures. Lets face it, in standard form it’s very close to the same weight as the DRZ.

Mayba add one of these to the setup above. Corbin seats have a very good reputation for comfort.
