Hey TB if ya looking at your Honda collection, check these out. Bit more than the Nifty 50 but very nice. 83 XR200, 500 and CR480, woohoo. Claims all original unrestored and the 200 has only 43km.
Ebay item no. 170370963963
I guess the stagecoach carrying the male just pulled into Warchopee.

Ooh, GO TEAM TB, 2010!
Good to see you and Dave made it back. Top good all round. You lucky bastards. I bet your itching to get out for a ride, I struggle watching others ride.
I bet TB’s question has somthing to do with Benny’s not having a spare tube. Let it go TB, there’s always next year.
DrD taken the high line.
SB-250y and co. follows suit
The small rut was the more popular line.
I think this was Gotcha looking happy with his choice of ride.
DrD took it for a ride and was very impressed with the rear suspension.
Graig H’s ride with us was short but impressive.
Mal trying to keep the shiny new Husky clean
Alright, I’ll add some details but seeing I had no idea where we were most of the time I’ll do my best.
Roll call:
DrD
Mal300
Medogrocket
Scotty
Tiny
LC-4Skin
BoB
Gotcha
MickP
Lotsa
Lipton
SB-250y and co. sorry forgot name.
Craig H for a short period
Shane-VOR master chefEverybody was on time and promply got geared up in the cold. Mals prediction of frost was right on the money. We set of up Jenolan Caves rd for about a km then turned left into the bush. The corner man system broke down on about the second corner but we were back on track pretty quick and didn’t have another mishap for the rest of the day. The trails were a mix of fire trails, twin and single track with some knarly rocky hills thrown into the mix. One very rocky uphill got the better of Lipton and saw Mal ride the CRF to the top, (bloody Honda). From here we headed to a look out for a morning tea of Lamingtons and jelly snakes.
From the lookout we headed down another hill with rock ledges and ruts that caught Lipton again seeing him have a little dirt nap. I think it was at the bottom of this hill I seen Gotcha drop into at rut and take a tumble. We rode some more trails, twin track, single, up hill, down hill, rocks, mud puddles, but as I said I have no idea where we were. We stopped at a camping area on the sixfoot track. This is where we were to meet Graig H. As we had set a pretty good pace with no real incidents we were here early so duct off for a short loop till Graig turned up.
Once Craig arrived we headed off what was supposed to be a smooth trail to meet with Shane who was preparing lunch. This trail turned out to have a number of mudholes and hills, one off which was rather rocky. Also a tree across the track which had a tricky detour. As we waited atop a hill to regroup it was agreed the BIG BMW would have turned around and would meet us at lunch. It was then we heard the sound of a big twin cylinder coming along the trail. Craig pulled up looking unfazed.
We headed off this time along easier pine forest trails. Here I got to spend some time behind Graig and was very impressed on the way he though around such a large bike.
Shane cooked up a feast off bangers and onion rolls for lunch before we headed back out for another few hours of trails. All day the group set a pretty good pace staying pretty close together and having no major misshaps.
Thanks for a good day DrD. Look forward to the next one. Great bunch off blokes to ride with. Only thing better would have been a few more beers at the end.
Will add the few pics I have soon. With the group running pretty tight there was not much time to stop and play tourist.

The best OBT ride i’ve been on.
Yep seen this a number of times. Ever wonder how so many tyre stores are offering very cheap mag wheel and tyre packages. Cheap wheels manufactured in China. Don’t need to hit anything to stress a wheel, they take large lateral loads when cornering.

Doesnt it say I think Ben will win, go Ben, but also go Honda I guess you can take whatever you want out of it
Honda still won, and I still wonder why Ben was forced to ride on a rim, why no tube or couldnt it be fitted or whatever
TB
Gotta say, I also took your quote “Benny is going to kick their butt” as Benny is going to kick HONDA’s butt.
Im sure a proper report will be forthcoming. Good trails, good company, good lunch (thanks Shane) and a beer to end the day.
Even a special guest visit by Charlie Borman, very impresive to see some of the trails this big beast made it through, I even believe it got some serious air time.
Oh and DrD finally found a bike with a rear suspension that works.

Im sure after 10 mins of the trails around Hampton we will be sweating, frost or not,
Looks like the Honda’s are starting to come into there own.
“Honda riders dominate day three of Safari
Condobolin’s Jacob Smith leads the field in the motorbike section of the Australasian Safari, having moved ahead of his brother Todd on the run between the West Australian towns of Mt Magnet and Leonara on day three of the motorsport marathon.Jacob Smith holds a narrow 10 second lead over Queenslander, AJ Roberts, with Todd Smith having fallen back to third, 16 minutes 46 seconds behind after setting the pace on the opening two days.
Jacob Smith and Roberts are both on Hondas’ who now have a handy break over the field after eight of the event’s 19 timed stages. However, KTM riders hold the next four positions, and they are sure to challenge over the remaining four days.”

Quote:Riddle me this guysBen said about his rear tyre drama
“I broke a spoke, which is normally a pretty minor problem, but it can cause you big problems when you’re out in the desert,” a philosophical Grabham said.
“The spoke then punctured the tyre and I was forced to take it off and ride on the rim until the end of the stage. I fixed that and just had to get on with in the second stage. These things are typical of the Safari – it’s not the end of the world and I’ll push on.”
Now why didnt he fit a spare tube that he would be carrying, wouldnt he? The only reason you would have a tube is if you had a mousse fitted, and they dont normally use rear mousses because they cant handle the high speeds. So he probably didnt have a mousse so would you race through 100km plus stages without a tube?

Bloody PDS I tells ya!
