Dr D. At this stage can ya put me down for lunch. Mate I just been put on an operation with an on call roster. At this stage im still good to go for sunday and will be moving hell and earth this week at work to make sure that is the case but worst case I could be called to work.

Once the bike is on the trailer saturday night I will be turning my phone off and the rest of the world can go to hell.

Secret ride to a secret location. I’d say i’m in but seeing I seem to be on a secret roster at the moment I won’t be able to confirm till closer to the date.

Think I picked her up one night on the cans. Certainly knocked me outa gear.

I also got the Renthal button bend on the DRZ. The extra height ment I did not need to get bar risers.

If that is the case why would anyone buy it over the 450?

Why did Ballard sleeve down some of their 450’s to 400’s ?

Why do does Chris Hollis run a detuned engine in his 450 ?

Why do major race teams as one of their setups calm the power delivery out in a 450 ?

Why are FIM looking to get rid of the 450cc class and have a 350 four stroke class ?

Why was Ben Grabhams 2008 Finke winning Honda run a stock engine bar for a vortex, rejet and exhaust system ?

How is it in the motocross desnations 2008 in the heat when the 450’s raced in the same race as the 250’s Ryan Villopoto beat the open class bikes on a 250, on an out door track ?

Because the bike is easier to ride faster for longer and in testing they are quicker for longer its a fact. And if the guns cant use all the bike all the time how are us wood ducks going to do it?

    TB

And the same reason Ben Grabham has chosen the KTM400 over the 450. Sometimes less is more.

Makes me think if these guys are so much faster on a smaller bike maybe I should be looking at an XR70 or something similar.

Cannondale did this back reverse engine design back in 2000. They also had fuel injection and a casette style gearbox. The airfilter was up behind the headlight and it sucked air through the frame.

Position in ADB shootout’s usually depends on how much they spend on advertising.

in reply to: Stiffing up the forks on the DRZ #145699

Yeah Boony as TB said Teknic did the forks on my DRZ. Put in .48 springs up for the standard .44’s and some trick aftermarket valves. Definatly go for the revalve, heavy springs alone will make the forks fell harsh. Believe it or not although mine have heavier springs they feel softer over small bumps but when you hit larger rocks and roots hard or jump they very rarley bottom or if they do bottom out you can barely feel it.

There are three different commands in this part of town that have different brands. One’s running XR’s (yes, still!), another has bananas and yet another has the green machines (which they say are the duck’s guts).

Yes there is one lucky command who have the KLX’s but I think they only got them as part of a security arrangement during the APEC summit. They origially had 4 of them but i think only got to keep 2.

As for the command with the XR’s. I got a phone call from one of them a couple of weeks ago asking to borrow my trailer as one had broken down. .

Old school dinosaurs have kickstarters. When was the last time you crank started a car. The new Husabergs are arguably the trickest bike around at the moment and oh look, no kickstarter. Welcome to the future.

Back on topic, has anyone tried one of the gell cell batteries?

Most police trail bikes are DRZ’s. Why would they be stupid enough to spend an extra $4000 on something else that does the same job.

    Only slower:laugh:

So they keep telling me. Funny thing is I ride the same trails at the same pace and turn up at the same locations as everybody else. Must just be my riding talent, or everyone elses lack off.
