The legal advice I have received since we spoke regarding the form in question is long winded Mick, basically its not worth a the paper its written on, and you are taking more ownership by having someone sign it as not signing anything and having a verbal conversation has then its your word against theirs.

    TB

That makes sense TB. It could be seen that by getting someone to sign a waiver you are making admissions that you knew what they were doing on your property was dangerous.

That said I know so many people using them Scotty and after the other weekend two major race teams included in that and they aren’t having any problem  , you still got the one that was faulty or was it one that went in the bin at Hillend

2 filters both in the bin, one at hillend and one at home. The one I threw in tne bin at home was as brown on the inside as it was on the outside, thats what alerted me to a possible problem and made me check the intake.

On non dusty or wet rides they may be ok but I would not use them again in dust. If a pre-filter was used this may help.

I used standard suzuki filter for the Denman ride which was another dusty ride. That filter did more kms than during this ride than the readyfilters did each day at hillend. Filter is filthy on outside but has a nice blue colour of the Motul filter oil inside. Intake clean.

I am only giving my experiance with the filter. I’m sure people have had success with them but I think it was pointed out by KTMRAT that they can be inconsistant. Either way I don’t plan on risking my topend again to find out if it was just a one off bad filter.

I think you’ll find when it comes to greedy lawyers those waver forms are only good for wipeing your arse with.

As gco0307 has pointed out precedence has been set with plenty of people have succesfully sued after signing such forms.

The one the scared me when I was racing was the fact that riders were starting to sue one another.

There’s a big jump in price of green slip on all vehicle over 10yo. :(. I got another 9 and a half years before I need to worry, :)

Ya got along just fine last weekend on the Putty ride Tracy, can’t see why it would be any different on this one. I think TB pointed out it will cater to all skill levels.

Now my suspension is working better I don’t have a problem with the weight, only when I gotta pick it uo off its side.

I was down the road here the other day checking the new Husky WR300, woo hoo, lightweight and big power. For some reason in got an itch for a 2 stroke ot the moment. I sure it will pass.

The reality is when I bought the DRZ I was accually looking at the CRF250 but decided I wanted a bike I could also put a big tank on for longer rides.

Laserracer as I said ive riden a YZ250F and it was a shit load of fun. If ya have a preferance for a MX’er, and the button start isn’t a big issue a 250 4stoke MX bike might be the answer. Light, easy to ride and for us unfit bastards prolly faster 90% of the time.

in reply to: Need some help (bike selection) #126704

Yeah, Ive not had the chance to ride a WR250F yet, will take up any offers though, ;) . I got to ride an YZ250F at Clarence, great little bike, easy to ride but needed a good clutch flogging to get my 90kg arse moving out of corners and on hills. Would 250F power be an issue for Laser’s 110kg, no offence Laserracer. :)

Laser have you considered having the YZ426 tammed a little. Mate if ya like that bike maybe a flywheel weight, a tame pipe and some suspension modes could calm it down. End up with a tame and soft but lightweight motocrosser.

I had a mate who got Ballards to do a similar thing to his 2002 YZ250 2 smoke a few years back after he did his ACL on it. He still has the bike and won’t ride anything else.

DRZ comes with a bucketful of crap that gets removed as soon as it is wheeled out of the showroom like rear mudguard extenders, huge and heavy blinkers, massive mirrors, reflector thingys. The stock handlebars are rubbish.

From what I understand Ecks, the NZ DRZ-E is like the US model and doesn’t come with all this ADR and S model shit. It has a smaller headlight and just a small trip meter, no large digital speedo.
Not sure if it can be rego’ed in NZ. This prolly not an issue for Lazerracer as he is already riding a YZ.

I think most people were having to much fun on the trails to stop for photo’s.

With 300+km’s there is inevidably going to be some transport sections.

I had a ball. Thanks TB for some more great trails, Boulder and Yakka for making sure everone made it through, and thanks everone else in between for the company on the trails.

What a great bunch to ride with, cheeky enough for some fun on the trails but everyone seemed to know there limits. I did get some good laughs out of some of the big skids coming into corners,. I had a few of those moments myself. ;)

This is one of my favorite DRZ vids

Nice turnout Ecks, looks like ya put the boys through some hard yakka.

That case on the DRZ looks like it has had a previous bodgy repair job. Case savers are a must have for the DRZ, only cost about $35 fron ebay.
