    Seahorse,
I’ve used the SKF bearing so far but it’s pricey at $117 from SKF. There is a Chinese equivalent at $55 but we would all rather not go there.
    Suggestions?

I would prefer to use SKF if possible ….I will try one of our engineering suppliers for a price next week…

    Thanks TB…

Did a bit of prowling on the Net last night and it looks like “All-Balls” do a seal kit for the XT660Z

Kit No. 55-122 Comprises two Fork Seals (43-55-10.5 mm)

They also do a kit comprising two fork seals and two dust seals

    Kit No. 56-135

Both appear to be available on eBay. Not sure if there is an Australian distributor for All Balls that would carry these kits.

Naturally there would be OEM seals available form Yamaha etc

Thanks for posting up the video..most enlightening…I assume Nick has drilled out the Compression holes to give an area greater than the area of the ID of the Damper rod.

You mentioned in the video that he also brazed up a hole. I assume it would be a “Rebound” hole, but cannot see them in the video.

    Are there two rebound holes..??

Looks like I will get my forks back tomorrow so I can whip them in Saturday. So if you don’t mind an old fart tagging along put me in for the ride.

Looking forward to my first ride with the “Old Bulls”.

If Old Al gets his forks sorted I may tag along as his “Minder”……:P
