This makes me feel all warm(er) and gooey inside!
If I were to be in your possie Aiden(sp?) I’d hope I was with some OBT’s.
That TB bloke’s a deadset angel. (If there are angels like that in heaven when I get there I’m asking for a refund!!! )
Bastard of a way to get members to the site though!!!
Thanks mate.
We’ll see how the part hunting goes first;)
The challenge in owning these things is the finding of parts! You’d be surprised how many husky and KTM parts I have had to modify and fit! :ohmy:Fingers crossed,,, shhhh! I’m hunting parts again!
In ‘e noice?
Fairdinkum TB I reckon I can see your halo shine from way up here!
Yeah champ it’s recessed on the backside for a filter.
I’m guessing it’s alloy because the case is also alloy. An iron plug will cause something bad to happen the name of which escapes my mind at the moment…(mmmm beers….)Nup. It’s alloy and it has to hold a little metal pre-filter in place. I’d have to take one to a fitter and have them made.
Yeah you did hear correctly. Both the oil filler and sum plug are the same part, go figure! Italians!
One will pop up soon enough, just not for 40 bucks hopefully!
How’s this?
$41 for a sump plug, shipped to my door direct from Italy.
$41!!!! It’s a sump plug!
Hopefully the bloke in NZ can do a better price?
I’m about to email CrossCountry Action (again, poor buggers) to see if they still have any…
Ahhh Euro bikes:unsure:
You know the old saying…”Once all the magic smoke has escaped…”

I gots a special lined winter flanno (actually there’s two so you can choose from different colours!). Ya can’t borrow my formal flanno though!
Grab a multimeter and check the continuity of the fuse. I’m curious! I’m also certain the mighty Vor has protective fuses right at the battery. I’ve even added an extra one!
I reckon if you pulled the old loom out Al, sat down and had a thnk about it, you could make one up…it’s pretty easy once it’s all out!
If you can get the old one down here I’ll have a crack at it.
Looks like I’m overdue for a trip to Anaconda:woohoo:
Wet and very slippy up there at the moment.
I’ll get a leg over when I find a sump plug…(and some other things!)
Ta Menace, I’l have a squiz
Thanks for all the advice and offers of assistance.
In the end I took another route.
Time to visit some showrooms with a vernier to find a suitle replacement part!
Ta Menace, I was thinking I needed one of those today…my old man’s got one but he’s bloody 5 hours away!
Meh, one rounded nut in 7 years isn’t so bad
Ha! Paydirts!
I had another look around the shed and found a 6 sided socket…but as I might have let slip, the nut was way beyond that sort of thing. I should really have looked harder in the first place before I buggered it completely.
The chisel wouldn’t work, not enough room in beside the frame rails, so I grabbed an old screwdriver (my pop just rolled in his grave!) but that wouldn’t budge it either.
So I think, in for a penny, and with a LITTLE file, make two flat sides to fit a 13 mm OE spanner. (If this doesn’t worked I’m all for emptying it by upturning the thing!)
Thank Christ that worked :woohoo:
Now, I need a new alloy sump plug. These things look like they’re spun, can anyone recommend a turner in Penrith? Luckily the filler is (or was) exactly the same dimensions!!!
