Hey Squizzy
Sounds like you have made an excellent choice for your young fella but a 300cc 2 banger is not really a bike to plod around on. Try finding a KTM 400, WR450 or a DRZ 400 in your budget.STM
I read an online blur on these a few weeks ago and the theory sounds legit plus they are Australian. Next time I need a new filter I will give them a go.
STM
Nickj, Dupsyam4 and Rob400 came down from Yamba and Corey8 and Nate80 came up from the Bucca. The idea was to split into two groups of three riders and Nick and I lead our respective loops. I had set a meeting point at an intersection which I thought would be similar time for both loops. Me and Corey and Nathan pulled up there and as soon as we took our helmets off we could hear bikes. In less than 1 minutes Nick and his crew showed up. We were blown away by how close we had come to being there at the exact same time. Now I know when you have a big group all sorts of things can go wrong and hold the group up but it is comforting to know that I have the loops even when ridden in flow.
We then rode as a group for the rest of the afternoon and Nickj and I swapped bikes all the way home. Once I got used to how to treat the DRZ I had a lot of fun and Nickj was ripping on my little Yami. I reckon a smaller trail bike may be on his list for Santa.
I have done everything I can to prep the tracks and although a little dusty today they are in top shape and now it is in the hands of the weather Gods.
Cheers to everyone for a top ride today and I can’t wait till 2pm Friday so we can get this party started.STM
If there is anyone in my Saturday morning group who would like to take on camera duties and be excluded from cornerman duties let me know and the job is yours.

Maybe on a Coffs hill if you have footage King
That’s rich coming from someone that’s scared of the widow maker
Friday let’s go to the widow maker and keeping going up and down Nick until someone (you) gives up, loser donates $100 to charity ?
There he goes again Nick. Trying to change the ride routes already!
STM
I hope the money he has paid you to say that goes to charity
I propose we go after the Friday ride, there is day light savings it could be an individual thing for charity
TB
If you can stay off the cans on the drive up and show up to ride on Friday TB I will throw $20 in the jug.

Trailboss wrote:Speaking of charity and raising money I have been dared to put one of my most treasured motorbikin possessions up for auction. At first I was dead against it but with it being for charity I will part with it. Someone may want it, they may wish to burn it or I don’t know. Anyway as per our discussion King I will put my Troy Lee Design Polka Dot Jersey up for auction. Mick reckons its iconic to OBT but we will see what happens its for a good cause. It has no rips and is pretty well unmarked (I don’t crash much) its has been looked after, it gets soaked in nappy san for extra white
Funny it has no rips in it has Crash has worn it

There is no end to the uses this jersey can serve. Feel free to add to the list but let me start by using it on a scarecrow. No ‘bird’ would come near that and it could aslo be used a a two man sleeping bag.

The way the auction will work is that the highest bidder gets the choice whether to keep it for themselves (unlikely) or choose a fellow OBT they are bidding for. When the hammer finally drops that poor sucker has to take the rack home and look after it until the next big OBT ride. Even better if that person has a tow ball as it will be mounted to their car for the drive home.
:cheer:
Shame Ollie isn’t coming. I would bid every cent I have to see that on the backt of his new truck. 😆STM

Good onya Chris!
If not for your tireless efforts in keeping this site up I would be left with the real world
Imagine all the useless shit I would get done if I wasn’t checking posts every 15 minutes 😆
STMLooks good!
Looking forward to catching up with your old man next week. It amazes me how such a top bloke can give birth to such a rat bag.

I drove up to the resort yesterday to tie up some loose ends and check on tide lines before the big weekend. While I was up there I took some shots so you have an idea what to expect. It is not your average “Van Park” and the facilities are top shelf. It is won a lot of tourism awards and it is easy to see why. The grounds are pristine and it has direct beach frontage, its own golf course and an excellent pool area.
Another thing the kids will love is the jumping pillows. Only one was inflated today but they look like a lot of fun for the grommies.
The Camp Cook House is better fitted out than my kitchen with catering fridge’s, electric cook top, microwave, two gas bbq’s and two sinks.
The powered sites have lawn you would expect to find on a bowling green
Which they also have!
And the powered sites have little communal shower/ toilet blocks so you don’t have to hike too far in the middle of the night.
If Boony jinx’s us
and the weather is shit there are enough indoor areas for the families to escape to.
And a big common room with a big screen to watch.
As for the weather what will be will be. We just had a beautiful weekend and the trails are perfect right now. Regardless it will be warm but just pack prepared. And just as a final teaser
