Jacko and Spud raised the bar on this one!! It was an awesome weekend and a great chance to catch with some of the trail crew. I have some pics I will sort through and load them up. I will also sent the Honda for surgery this week and let you know the outcome. I fear it won’t be pretty

I just renewed my rego and it wad the equivalent of two new tyres, a goggle lens, a slab of beer and one tank of fuel. Seems response to be able to ride where and when I want.
I spent more at a restaurant last week and the food wasn’t even that good!!STM
Welcome aboard Sheep.
If you are a mate of Smally then you are a loose unit which means you will fit right I’m around here 😆STM

Whats the go Boony!! North Coast trails, BBQ’s and beers. Either your wife is delivering a baby or you bought a 690. They are the only reasons you would miss this one

The rain is falling gently up this way at the moment and the forecast looks perfect. Thanks to Nickj and the boys for all the planning and trail work that they have put in to get this one ready. Now I just have to wait a few days, pack my bike, some tea and biscuits and head on up. Knowing what Spud has planned for us on Saturday I will be getting my sleep this week!
Don’t worry about pictures and reports King Strucky. It has been too long since the trail crew all got together so there will be plenty of stories to tell.STM
New springs in the clutch and a full detail and I am good to go for this weeks North Coast ride.

I dug this one out as a teaser.

The one set in tassie where the guy takes his mini excavator into the bush and forms tracks for mtb down hill fun.
It’s not the mtb bit, it’s the fact that he is aloud to take machinery into the ‘ pristine wilderness’ his words in the ad, and make tracks.
Motorcycle riders wanted to do the same we’d be branded environment vandals, ruining the precious bush for everyone else for all time never to recover
Ok rant over.
Pretty hard to get a clear picture from a 30 second commercial. If you Google the Tassie MTB projects you’ll understand it a lot better. They are obviously not built in World Heritage areas. Tassie also has a huge trail network and good dirt bike culture that nobody is suggesting should be closed. You will also find plenty of the guys that ride dirt bikes cross train in the MTB parks for fun and fitness. What about motocross tracks that are on public lands. I am pretty sure machinery is built to make those.
We should be celebrating the fact that riding culture is becoming mainstream as this may open the door for better access in the future.
Our biggest problem is the noise we make. Once MTB trails as built everyone enjoys them in relative silence. As long as we can be heard we are considered to be enviromental vandals. Once we are all riding electric bikes we should be fineSTM
Shimano are running mineral oil in all of there MTB disc brake systems so it is in abundance at any good bike shop and is cheap. Take in a small bottle and they will be able to hook you up.
