That’s why the sign is hanging in the pub Shell. The blokes love to talk about it but nobody actually ever managed to find it

You sure you didn’t go down the wrong trail because Nickj was complaining of monkey butt

Well done!!

Friday:
Thursday night I slept like a kid on Xmas Eve and woke up every hour or so and checked my watch.
Morning would not come quick enough and I was desperate to see what weather we would have for day one. When the day finally broke it was overcast and drizzling. I logged on and saw that it was looking better for the day so I set about getting things organized on the home front before the troops arrived.
I had spent so much time with Nickj working on his loop that I had not thought about my own for over a month  so I fired up Google Earth and studied mine. I made some last minute changes for Friday based on the weather and got ready for Nickj to arrive.
As is always the case he was right on time and looking more nervous than a groom on his wedding day. Over lunch we went through his loop on the printouts he had made and cross checked on his GPS. The first time he went to load his GPS his loop was not there and he seriously shat himself. It was pure gold. :silly: I knew he was good to go but he thought his security blanket had been pulled from him and I thought he was about to cry.
Nick unloaded his Banana and it looked showroom floor compared to how it would look for the rest of the weekend.
I gave a last look over my little Yami and it was tight and tuned and ready to go.
Nick geared up and headed out to do some final trail maintenance and check conditions while I jumped in the Luxy and headed to Coles to stock up for the weekend. If you want to shop seriously you need a ute.
We arrived back around the same time and Nick reported conditions were normal, humid and wet!! We had an hour to spare so we started unpacking the weekend’s supplies and prepped some salad and cut some onions. For the second time that day Nick nearly cried.
From there it was show time and we saddled up and headed to the resort. As we turned right into the driveway the Noosa crew were turning left which meant that by their standards they were early. I have a massive amount of respect for Mike and when he said he and Tom were bringing two others with them I knew they would be good value. We did our intros in the car park with Greenmike and Damo and as I looked around I saw trailers and utes everywhere with bikes onboard. :woohoo:
I took a walk through the park and saw Corey, Boulder, Krusty, Murph, Dude, AL450 and Chicken. As three o’clock approached we gathered in the meeting area and for the first time I realized how big this weekend was going to be. We had over 20 bikes and this was just the Friday warm-up!
To Be Continued…….

We did not do it this weekend as its a trail I rather do on my own. Last thing you want is to be there after 37 other bloke

Might keep the Mrs Jessops off our back for next time.
We are not really there to rip up their beaches, run over their dogs(or roos) and rattle the dentures out of little old ladies mouths with our throbbing exhast pipes
It must be a bit intimdating to see a heap of blokes dressed like storm troopers invading their little coastal havens
I’d shit bricks if 30 or 40 bikies roared past me while i was knitting. But if i knew it was all for a good cause i would probably bake them a pie :cheer:Your turf STM…but just a thought.
My head hurts :S
Bol :woohoo:
I appreciate the thought but I don’t need any more publicity. It is a small town and everyone showed great respect but if any local asks me it never happened.
I know the big fella needs no encouragement but how good was his run up the Widow Maker. No scouting, no run ups, just one determined approach and TB nailed it as clean as it can be done. There is no way I would attempt to get a BRP up there but he rode it like nobody else.
I guess he has Corey to thank because until Corey hit it he looked very comfy on camera duties at the bottom. :laugh:Well done mate
You owned that bitch :woohoo:STM

Sounds like TB has made the call. There will be a 2011 edition of this ride. I will write a full report this week but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone involved over the weekend. It was a text book example of what OBT is about and I was stoked I could host it in my backyard.
Rest assured Nickj and I will be scouring the forest for more trails for next years ride. I know it is a tough job but someone has to do itSTM
Just a reminder. Shuttle bus leaves the resort car park for dinner tonight at 6.30.
For those arriving later we are having dinner at the Amble Inn, Corindi, so you can meet us there.STM

Got a bit to do today before the ride. I slept like a kid on Christmas eve last night. Woke up every hour to see if it was daytime yet
I know what you mean mate!!
I have done my loop at least 3 times during the night!
Gold Nickj.
I know what you mean. I completely redesigned todays loop sometime during the night. I have come up with a combo that will seem new even to you.STM
