Great read Mick.
No better way to clear new trails than to put a line of bikes through them so let me know when the ride weekend is on and I will be glad to help out.

We will be going down it not up it so don’t worry Corey, you won’t have to ride 15 bikes up.

I wasn’t going to let on we were going down it, thought it would be a nice surprize !!  :woohoo:
One of the last pieces of the planning puzzle came together yesterday. Nickj has plotted his loop on his Garmin and he feels confident with it. Considering it is not his backyard he rode the whole thing as my lead and nailed it. It is 55km and includes open dry ridge lines, deep dark jungle, flat fast beach, buffed flowing singletrack and erosion mound madness.
Now he is sorted I can concentrate on Friday ride. I have begun to plot it in my head and I will go out over the next week and start to string it together.
Friday will be a 30km warm up and both loops on Saturday will be 55km.
If you in two minds about a new back tyre for the ride my suggestion would be to fit one. Who knows what the weather will be like but the gullies are generally soft and can get greasy it is a safer bet to have decent rubber.
Intermediate compounds work well and I have been enjoying the Scorpion MX Extra.Other good options are the Dunlop MX51 and if money is no issue and you don’t care about wearing a tyre out in three days then go the S12. They stick like stink to a dog.Any questions just PM and I can’t wait to host you all in my backyard.

Yep well i guess we might have gotten 2k’s into the bush before we got a little loose
Was GREAT tobe back on the bike and back in the bush and even better to be doing it all with the old man as well who still has a bit of pace about him.
mind you the leg injury was in the back of my mind the whole time but it is all good.
Glad it went well mate.
You don’t have to worry about the injury on the bike because you did it working in the yard. The moral of that story is less work around the house and more riding.STM

Are we looking multiple DRZs? Might be able to get a group buy going Shell.
I’ll keep a lookout in my area mate.
I can tell you as a riding buddy of Shell’s it would take several men to keep up.
