I just spend 2 hours in the man cave tidying up my cable routing and rewrapping all those wires that I don’t use behind my headlight

It looked like an octopus wrestling my son whilst he was feeding himself spagetti but now it looks real neat :woohoo:

    Job Done!

I was told by the anodiser that hubs are cast and cast from crap alloy and when anodised the rough casting is full of pitting and the anodising then looks like crap

Billet for strength, mine are powder coated and haven’t been to bad. I am now looking and have priced Talon billet hubs this morning for the strength more then looks. I will then lace them with extra heavy duty spokes

TB where did you get them powder coated and was it $$$$?

Just out of interest rougly how much for the Billets?

I haven’t seem Husky Sal Since my stack and am not sure what she needs to fix her but I reckon it’s time to bling her a bit 😆

I have the Ballards ones and I use the spanner cuts to operate my chain breaker. They do scratch painted rims as they have a fairly narrow end but this does make getting under the bead a lot easier.

Two wheeled fossil burners near populated areas are on the endangerded speices list. Electric or hydrogen technology is the only hope if you want to ride within or near the radius of a capital city.

Dirt bikes as we know them will go the way of the horse. When was the last time you saw a horse being ridden down Bondi Rd for a quick run up and down Tamarama? 1942 I bet.

The destiny of our sport will be in dedicated ride zones or on the fringes of civilisation.

I am very glad that I live on the fringe.

I was involved in a 5 year court battle over crown roads and access tracks. My understanding after it was resolved is that crown roads as shown on topographic maps etc. Can be used by the public providing they are not contained within private land that has an enclosure permit and that no vegitation is removed to create these tracks . In the dept. Of lands words to me the crown road can be used but go round the trees not over them. National parks in our area approached me to show them where their own tracks were and are thankful that trail riders use them and can provide them information on their overgrown fire trails.
This is obviously a sensible approach by NP as I could tell them where in a fire situation it would be dangerous , even life threatening to their firefighters with their outdated info.
I hope they maintain the attitude that we are doing more good than harm using these trails.

Then I guess it is up to us to research those trails real good B)

Here is a classic example of a fire road that was cut back in only 6 months ago and has started to grow back over already.

Next time they need to use it they can thank me for keeping the lantana at bay.

Is Slaters road still there STM?

That cost Slaters alot of money, cause they pushed it in with no authority, but was quickly designated an access road once there.

    Yeah Blue

    Slaters is still there.

TB it’s not just about unrego bikes, but bikes doing what they consider the wrong thing. That would include riding the single tracks we like so much. These arn’t considered “legal trails” and as such whether your registered or not they want you out of the forest. Life will get boring real quick if we have to stick to the fire roads.

Singletracks are illegal in National parks but are legal in State Forests.
