Get some video of it in action
TB
Who knows what I was rambling on about the other night. I do speak my fair share of shit which is one of the reasons I belong on this site
I will get some shots of the new weapon in action. I will get some good before and after pics. Sweet dreams lantana. Your time has come!
STM
Where you staying?
I was down in Sydney Town today and picked up my new lantana weapon. A two stroke hedge cutter with massive teeth. It makes Edward Scissor’s hands look like a wanking glove. I will get some shots this weekend and post a full report.
I could not resist and tried it on some brush beside the road and it was sending shit flying :woohoo:

Hey Moto
Give me a call when you get the battery cover sorted and I will take it off your hands.
If you have lost my number PM me.

Sounds like you need a second bike mate.
You can’t trade one for the other and be hapy everywhere.

You must be due for a Southern road trip when junior mends!

Saturday through the eyes of a mid pack specialist.
I had my alarm set for 5.45am but the power blew in the kitchen with a loud pop at 5 so I lay awake pondering what the day may bring. I had a quick look outside and through the dark I could see light rain falling. I beat the other boys to the shower and sat down for first round of breaky with Kram. Luckily the power was back!
Rooms emptied out as others arrived and before long the banter had begun and it was only 6.30am. Time to unload a very clean but soaking wet bike from my ute and assemble for the rider briefing.
Racer X layed the law for the day and made the wise call to run two man cornerman. With over 30 bikes the two man kept things running really smoothly and we flowed through our first singletrack of the day. The trails were pretty greasy and as the sun was starting to break through the humidity was at max. Keeping moving was the only hope of keeping your goggles clear and the good flow continued until we hit a newly graded hill with a couple of logs in the run up.
I saw the unmistakable polka jersey round the corner, disappear and the view of TB was replaced by a massive plume of smoke. He had either pulled some sort of David Copperfield shit and completely vanished or he was on the ground with a broken bike. Unfortunately for him it was the later as he dumped radiator coolant all over the log the BRP landed on. TB out! Most people would be hunched over there bikes with the shits but TB encouraged me when it was my turn to ride the slop and suggested I take off in second. It worked and I joined the others on top while we waited for TB and his bike to be dragged out.
It was only 8.30 and we had a lot of ground to cover so RiderX led the troops away. The next two hours were slipperier than a proctologists finger and there were plenty of moments had by all. Two man cornerman also turned into a great opportunity to meet more crew or get to know others better. It was also about your only chance to remove the mud from your goggles. Considering the conditions the bikes were running well and carnage was kept to a minimum as the ground was soft everywhere.
The mid pack was full of little battles and very funny moments and just when you thought you were on it someone would smoke by just to put you back in your place. Any section that was even remotely dry you felt invincible after having to be so gentle on the throttle all day. After a regroup at the swollen Bloodwood it was more of the same, epic singletrack. You would come up to a cornerman and realise it was someone you had a beer with the night before and you would try and lay it over that bit harder or drift a little further out of the turn. This had mixed results but was always good fun.
After 5 hours of epic trails we pulled into a grassy clearing and had a great lunch and a cold can of drink. I had to head back to Coffs and missed the last two hours but I was completely satisfied with my day and my bike.
A big thanks to everyone behind the scenes who contributed to such a great weekend and to RiderX and his reliable sweeps for getting us all around. I wish I had some chopper footage of some sections as 30+ bikes on the pipe through the bush would look epic.
I am glad it turned out such a good weekend for you Mick and it is proof that Karma is in working order. You deserve it!
See you next year. :woohoo:

Welcome XR70
They say too much hooch can stunt your growth but I thought it was just a wifes tale. If you ever make it out to Oz I am sure you will find plenty of great places to ride with some of the madmen from this site.
Check with your local airport because you may be able to take an XR70 as carry on luggage
Now that is how you celebrate your birthday!
I arrived friday afternoon into town at about 4.30 and rang Mick to get the directions to his shed but his phone went straight to message. I guessed he and the boys were still out on their ride so I pulled over and was about to do some work on my lap top when I heard a rumble that could only be a herd of XR 650’s amongst others. The noise got louder as they came into sight I pulled a u turn and folllowed them back.
I have always wanted to be a part of a shed party and I was as excited about this as the ride Connor had trashed the drivetrain on his Mongoose so while I went to work on that the others started preping their bikes for Saturday. The shed banter was classic and TB and Mick were into each other like teenage brothers. Gold.
Once the bikes were done I headed out the the farmstay that Mick had arrranged for us. It was a cool set up near the trails and very clean and comfy. More intros here as I put faces to site names with OB’s such as Kram, Bollocks, Justo and Jeffro to name a few. At 7.30pm the shuttle bus arrived to pick us up and take us to the RSL for dinner. Once there more crew, mostly locals, rocked up and we all had a great feed. It was good to see Moose agian and had a laugh with Tripper who was in funny form. Outside the rain fell lightly the whole time which meant Saturday would dawn wet.
At 5.45am my alarm went off and it was time to start the day with a full cooked breakfast. It had stopped raining out side but the grass was soaked so it looked like a slippery day was ahead of us.
Satuday report to follow.

Enjoy the site.

STMFingers Fingers. I’m not being an old fudy dudy but in my line of work you see little ones hurt in the most simple ways. So pls keep an eye on him as he would be old enough now to get you a beer and open it and I would hate to see you missing out on that.
Cheers for the heads up Fez but I keep an eye on him. If he steps behind then bottom bracket I move him away.
Besides, I have seen Ollie ride and fingers are over rated. He is F%^$in quick!

Heya ollie, sounds good mate but just to remind you I am slow haha. A few months back myself and a few mates went for a ride with people who said they were average… Bloody Hell, we didn’t see them for the rest of the day. I just dont understand how people ride that fast through the bush, its insane!
Maybe we could learn some new trails though. Woo Hoo!! 😆
Hey freeze
I lost a number plate, number plate holder, rear tail light and a front brake lever and that was during an OBT ride
My little man, 14 months, is too young to be on the tools but he loves coming out to the shed with me. He knows the brooomm, brooomm is in there and gets very excited when I unlock the door.
I put an MTB in a work stand and he will turn the crank and watch the wheel spin and never seems to get bored.
He did start to cough badly the other day and when I went to check on him he had chewed a knob of my front tyre and had it stuck in his mouth so he has a fair bit to learn yet on how to change tyres. Chewing it off the rim is not the fastest way :laugh:STM

we had a coffee in kinglake while we waited for the boys. i was fighting with half a dozen wasps who were all eyeing off my pie.  little shits!
kinglake is where the worst of the 2009 bushfires hit. the place is still devastated and sadly there are still families living in tents and caravans. my family used to go up there when i was young and the whole place looks different now. it will never be what it was.
anyway we kitted up and took off only to find most of the tracks shut still. we found some that werent
the dust was horrible, with white ashy powdery crap exploding in front of you when you were following. my chest was sore last night from breathing it in.
we hit a few wicked singles. on in particular was really overgrown and it was luck sometimes that kept me getting the odd glimpse of something to follow.
we all stopped for a rest and sat around on a conveniently placed log. there was thunder and lightning all around us. we were all praying for rain coz it was bloody muggy.we cruised some more and stopped at an old quarry for a smoke. i was dared to climb a nasty little hill and gave it a go…
throwing the kato away again..(its becoming a bit of a habit lately)
at least the kato made it up, i was left sliding down the face trying to dig in my fingers and toes for grip. :laugh:dave and bill at the quarry discussing the problems of the world…
the 3hungy…
we took off from there and hit a bit of marginal road and thats when it happened.
bill was casually cruising along when poof! a big puff of white smoke came out of his exhaust. i gassed it to catch him and as he accelerated it did it again. we stopped and bill turned off the berg.
it didnt want to play anymore and wouldnt start. it made lovely little smoke rings when he tried to start it. there was wet oil residue in the muffler too. not looking good. it was decided to go get the car and pick up bills sorry arse. :laugh:video if me chucking the kato and bills smoking berg.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbHJfG8bCSkit was 20-25kms of pristine gravel road back to the cars and i was having a ball drifting around every corner. i managed to squeeze 144 km/h out of the 300 before i ran out of road. man, was she revving :woohoo:
i loaded up my stuff and thrashed back up the road to retrieve bill. the prado was drifting some corners too, trailer and all.
i missed the track and went passed bill but soon worked it out and picked up the ride wrecker and his wounded woosaberg
we got back out of the forest and met the boys and went to the flowerdale pub for lunch
their beer is really good and they do a mean bangers and mash too. it had rained at the pub before we got there. we seemed to be dodging it somehow.
heading home it finally rained…a bit too late
i spoke to bill this morning and he said the berg will start now but its smokey. its off to the shop on monday.
thanks to dave and aido for their usual lack of organisation
and to bill for wrecking a good ride
hope its a cheap fix mateHey Menace
