    The lower spring retainer unseats once the preload is unwound and then can be rotated so that it can be removed. You have de-gassed your rear shock and that will mean taking it to a mechanic.
    If ever you are in doubt check on You-Tube first. Almost all basic maintenance jobs are on there.

    I have spent some time checking it out mate and it is a firmware glitch. The new update on the 3 and 2 are similar and are both having freeze issues. Revert to your previous setting or wait for the new one.
    I agree with TB on the upgrade point. If my hardware is functioning well I always ignore the upgrade advice. Always!!

    Some Hero 3’s are having the same issues according to the blogs. Seems it is a firmware problem. I have not updated my Hero2 so it seems you have dragged a bug into yours. The GoPro crew are no doubt onto it so update again regularly and I am sure they will fix the glitch.

    The MX track is only 5 minutes from my office so I took my bike to work with me. Literally!!
