Good luck on your travels .

IvaVery nice looking bike Iva
………thinking of going Husky myself, secondhand though.
Yeah mate was good stuff
. The grip on the hills was amazing considering in the dry they are hard work. I tried to cut through some other tracks to get home but had to turn around and head back to the road as they were well under. In the end my leaving you to stay away from town and police was a fail because when I come out of Burrum Heads Road I had to wait for a police car to pass before I could go  . Just say when you are keen again, although I think the rain is back tomorrow  . I had a camera just forgot to get pics and vid :silly: .
Oh and lets not forget the fun we had in some of the four wheel drive torn up stuff…….man do they make a mess :S .

Man that is a good ad for not attempting to cross floods, once that water has you your gone . I can not get over what is going on south of here while we have sunshine it’s truly mind boggling  .

Not sure i can get there Via Churchill mines road and the St Helens dip is full as a goog. I am more than Intersted though. been trying to get out and about but not crossing creeks solo.( on foot or bike lol ) The Towers will be serious slippery lol. Morning or Arv? I got to take daughter to interview at midday.I did a round trip from here to the bay, then up to Maryborough and back to here today and all roads were open and water free. I am flex I have not a lot happening  . Yes it may be a bit slippery but everything hard is easily avoided if need be  .

Quote:Hello to you all from Lake Qld. I’ve been trying to get the Husky out for a bit of a run but sadly.. nowhere to go. Pick a direction, go 2 mile max, turn back and head home. Can it get any wetter? My thoughts go out to those who are innundated and have suffered losses due to this massive Wet we’re copping. I think Qld chapter of Old Bulls will be left to read Ride reports and dream of a break in the weather for a while to come. Personally, I cant remember a time in my life when Everyone I know personally is flood bound. From one end of Queensland to the other.
Much more of this, I shall be making room in the Lounge for the Husky. :cheer: Quick Hello to Sirdropalot, Hope your still dry there mate.Yeah still dry here but officially unemployed until some waters recede (take that over being flooded any day). I was thinking about getting the bike out tomorrow and seeing what the towers have in store if you are interested. You do have the river down behind you don’t you, I guess far enough away to be ok though?
I seen footage from Toowoomba tonight now that was heartbreaking
. Makes our floods up here look tame.

Quote:I suppose that’s a long winded way to encourage you to have a go, find a bit of a challenging log, and just play with no pressure, then when you don’t have a choice on a ride, you will be stoked you put some time in “Just in case”.Cheers.
You pretty much described how I felt about the “just in case” scenario. I went out to try and learn as logs have always been a fear. I found one I figured was a good starter and after many run ups that ended in fear parked at the log  I finally hardened up and launched. Once going I was right and some felt good and some felt dodgy but was getting confident enough to get the camera out, stupid, stupid and stupid  . This was the result……..its not the best as camera was playing up and I only had it sitting on the end of the log. If you have the sound up you can hear the smashing glass  .

Sadly, one particular place here is so heavily dumped its no longer a ridable place unless you like pulling Nails and steel from the wheels.Yeah some tracks around here are pretty full of rubbish  .

Has any one ever actually damaged a side case on their drz and would accessory side cover guards actually prevent a rock damaging the case or would the impact merely transmit through the guard and smash the case any way? Im just sceptical about forking out $90 for good marketing.I had given the case on the gearlever side a hiding to what I reckon was only a smidge away from breaking through so got the covers. Have put a considerable dent in the gear lever side(should stop falling that way ) which probably would have been a case smasher on the original, so I think they are worth it as the originals cost a fortune to replace. I got mine from overseas and they only cost 43 dollars to my door, that was back in December 2009 though so could be cheaper now. Here is the link.
what did you use to stick them on with?????
The stuff they recommended in their instructions (sold at supercheap), can’t remember the name but it was black goop. They are still holding strong 12 months down the track. I also did as they recommended and cleaned the originals with disc brake cleaner first to get a better stick.

Firstly G’day Grant(gotowo) long time no see, good to see you are still riding
. I am thinking about doing my suspension (have a banana as well} and its good to see some positive comments, as I have wondered if it was going to be worth it. I am a bit more of a heavy weight than Grant and weigh in at 96kg unkitted so I guess it would be different set up for me? I mainly ride the usual rocky rutted type tracks and don’t go looking for big air jumps, just erosion mounds.
