Now i posted this on another forum, but understandably many of the answers sorta came back as basically “start acting your age” old man type advice

Give us some ideas here oh wise Old bulls..cause this is getting worse each time it happens, the hole gets deeper

    Mr Blue

Mr Blue as you are aware I have already commented in the other forum. In there I thought maybe age and condition and the crew (not knocking them love their work Helmets or not….wish I was rider enough to ride with a crew like that:laugh: ) you ride with may contribute. Now I am thinking as this is playing on your mind so much its looking a bit like that old sex killer ….performance anxiety. You sound a lot like me and tend to over analyse things and god help us think too much about these things. I have a hill on ST near home here that first time I hit it while in there for a first ride(alone) made it up as it came out of a blind corner and because I didn’t know it was there until I was on it went straight up. Since then and with others around (a real anxiety for me ..spectators)I have got worse and worse getting less distance until it became a running joke that I would eventually fall off in my driveway thinking about that hill:blush:. That said was in there alone again couple of weeks ago and made it 2 out of 3 times:woohoo:. To me I feel you need to try and clear your head (I know not so easy) and maybe if you have the bucks do the sport Psycology thing and see if that helps. Only my opinion mate I am far from an expert except on the negative nellie side  .
Now speaking of anxiety you wouldn’t believe how much I suffer it putting posts up in forums:S

Welcome to little mini ECK-man she looks like she will take to bikes like a duck to water and why wouldn’t she with all those toys to play with. I have some future competition for her here, this is my 10 month old grandaughter looking keen already.

Hi Guys, I’ve done Fraser Island twice on my KTM300, as long as you prepare your bike and wash the hell out of it when you get home they seem to handle it OK.. Bearings and pads are no worries, the inland trails are great fun:woohoo: … the run up to the northern tip is alright if you’ve never done it before but is long, straight and fairly boring. For those who’ve never done Fraser by bike it is a must do at least once. My belief is in years to come they will stop bikes going over. Gotta watch out for 4wd,s though as of course there a lot slower than the bikes… But once on the inland trails less travelled, you have the whole place to yourselves… Any questions about Fraser just ask me.. cheers

Have watched the Y club ride on Fraser Island and it does look good although I have no real idea of my sand riding abilities.

The brother in law is looking to get to Rainbow for a day. Will be an early start on a Sat. Possibly next w/e. I’ll keep you posted if your interested. On the Towers, yes, we should get up there soon, I’m sure i knowe of a set of real tight tricky stuff on the back side of the hill, takes you through some plate rock creek beds, slippery but fun.. I reckon i can find it once I’m on the hill…or get us both lost.:woohoo: :woohoo: The Rainbow ride shuld be a kicker though with a fair whack of attention going to be put into the kings bore area. This has been in the puipeline for awhile, just been waiting for the bro n law to get his bike rego’d. I think too he has FINALLY signed up here. as “Berg 03” ?

Rostered on next weekend so no riding for me, I only get the luxury every 2nd w/e or mid week. As for that track if it has some wooden bridges made by someone much keener then me then I have been down it.

Woo hoo thanks mate I lost a couple on saturday with people taking roadies with them when they left(my dad being the biggest offender, he always takes 2 roadies.). I shall treasure it. As for 1 hour 20 years behind, we resemble that remark:ohmy:

Yeah mate I went into power line tracks for SHORT play before heading home and went from that to talking myself into going to the towers(hence the 3 drops). Had the place to myself didn’t see or hear a soul. Look forward to our next adventure and if you want you can play rougher with me  and make me work harder next time

Took the new B&B bashplate on its first adventure today and after hearing very loud bangs at certain times I think I am glad to have finally got one. I also had a fair bit of rubbish (sticks etc) to pull out of fins in front of radiators so will have to invest in rad guards for sure:) .

Ok being old I had to come home and have a bit of a ‘nanny’ nap before posting about ride. As Husky610 said, thanks to the ‘Old Bulls’ we managed to organise a ride in the Fraser coast. My day started off a bit fuzzy due to my granddaughters christening on saturday(good excuse for a drink or more)lucky for me we had agreed on 9:00 am start. I had my pit crew do some last minute mirror adjustments and checks for loose nuts(no not me:unsure: )

    bike010.jpg
Met up and away we went on tracks all new to me so I was happy to just cruise along and check out the scenery. Like Husky610 I never got a lot of pics and we must have stuck close together as they are much the same as above:).

Husky610’s weapon of choice and I do mean weapon as he reminded me on a few occaisons its not a good idea to be tucked right in behind a 610 when the rider pulls the throttle on, I felt like a target at a rifle range:laugh:

Now, having had a fair bit of rain lately there was a fair amount of water/mud holes for ‘Sirdropalot’ to play in..After a quick check on the camera( after the swimminmg/mudlarking was done :() we found our way to the quarry.

Now boys and girls this is a lesson learnt, if your lead rider who knows the area goes around something it probably is a good idea to do the same;). Husky610 was forced to have a bit of a stop and wait while I decided to take a bath mid-ride. For a minute I thought I was at my other favourite sport of water skiing:blush:.
Went to Torbo servo after we had wound our way out and managed to run them out of fuel topping up our bikes, much to the annoyance of the cars that came in behind us:S . Had a pie and drink before parting ways and on the way home I had a bit of a play on some tracks I knew and managed to throw my bike on the ground 3 more times living up to my username. Good day had and only have a broken indicator lens and a bit of mud to clean off :woohoo:
    bike017.jpg
Thank you to Husky610 for the company and showing me around and looking forward to that ride out Poona way. Thanks also mate for taking it easy for the old bloke finding his sea(bike…oh hang on after the water puddle maybe it is sea) legs again:).

Footnote: Sorry about the pics everyone I had something set so they all look blue green  , like computers cameras are also too hard for me:S .

I did a ride report last year on DBW – http://www.dirtbikeworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=42880 if anyone is interested. I haven’t made it back there yet, but plan to do so this year.

Great report ECKS-Man Biketerritory looks like its worth a drive down for one day although ramps across fences could be interesting for a bloke who shakes if he is 6 inches off the ground . I do have to wonder if the banana was getting a bit of a complex by the end of the day though in amongst that sea of blue.

The one in avatar is in an area where there are three climbs up the hill and it is the middle climb. Yep still up here and would be great to have someone to ride with I don’t know anyone here yet with bike so normally go down to Brisbane or take a chance on riding alone up here.

Just put a B & B bashplate on my underripe banana, as opposite to you TB I prefer the look of them to whipps ( I know I can’t get colour bike right so why get bashplates right:laugh:). Havn’t had chance to ride since fitting so can’t rate it yet. I do want to get force rad guards although my parental control on security won’t let me look at the website for them as its toooo naughty.
