Mine is still looking good at around 500kms and I am still happy with how it plays on the dirt. I was talking to Ralph last night and he said his is now a slick but he has done a lot more riding and also has a 450x which churns them up quicker than an under ripe banana . I will be happy to stick with Kenda but not a hard choice as the direct from supplier price can’t be beaten :silly: .
Good viewing there Teflon, even the dam seems to have been behaving and was reasonably glassy looking for a change
.
Mine is easy…………I ride a dirt bike and I fall off of it a lot  .
To Ecks and family
Congratulations and all the best from another bloke surrounded by woman (wife, daughter and grand-daughter) may she be yet another cool avatar for you
Hope you have an absolute ball next weekend fella’s and for all us poor bugga’s who can’t make it bring on the ride report of all ride reports so we to can live it :woohoo: .
Excellent ride reports, pics and vids guys. Looks like a lot of fun although not too sure on the bromances
. I think you fellas should remember “What goes on in the bush, stays in the bush”
Looking forward to seeing all this one in its glory:laugh: .

Quote:great read sirdropalot sounded like an epic day out, pics were great as well…..when a few of the guys that i know ride there often say it’s getting extremely difficult, makes you think twice about heading up there.
looks rutted out big time, when managers hill is getting near impossiable to climb and only one was able to ascend good luck hill…
mmmmmm think i might wait for the dozer to go through again……..
Mate I wish I could find them………or know if I have when I have:laugh: . I have heard of and watched vids about them but have no idea if we have struck them yet as have always been riding in groups with minimal knowledge of Amamoor.
Washougal maiden voyage was had by 2 of us yesterday with both being quite happy with the feel and how they looked at the end of the ride. We both noticed on some surfaces they had a flat tyre feel and were a bit skaty but could have been due to not worn down a bit knobs (on the tyre that is….us 2 knobs are well worn down  ). I found I could power out of corners on the back wheel quite easily which I think is a first for my bike :woohoo:, and other than rider error felt real grippy and safe on the hillclimbs. JD was on a “Budds Creek” which compared to the “Washougals” looked a little more chewed up but that was an older tyre.

Quote::laugh:   Excellent report Sirdropalot. Thanks mate but I never want to lead a ride again  although I think dramas can add to fun  .
Suprisingly I managed to guide the others back to the cars quite easily (I think it was just luck). This is where Grant and Steve decided they had had enough and packed up and head off to Kandanga pub for lunch (hope you enjoyed the ride fellas even though it was a bit of a farce with a not so good leader:dry: ). After lunch us three remaining took off into the hills above the car park and found some good tracks but no matter what track we tried they all ended back at the carpark turn:blink:, so we head off past the muster site again and went up a track I had been on previously. There was a bit of zone finding there with a pretty crazy pace happening but enjoyed by all except 2 horse riders we found in there:blush:. All went well and at one stop JD spotted the lookout tower high above us and said take me to the top of that hill, I said that is the tower we have been up there so should be able to so off we went. Although from where we had first spotted it had looked like an impossible climb it actually turned out to be a bit of a non event and we were up there before we knew it. By this time it was getting late and quite dark in amongst the rainforest bits so we TRIED heading back to the cars only to end up almost back in Amamoor town itself when we popped out of bush, so we had a long ride back beside the bitumen road. Ralphs trip meter showed 101kms travelled for the day and other than getting lost and a few painful hills was a good day in my eyes:woohoo: .
Injury no. 1: Sirdropalot slightly twisted knee, swollen and bruised but otherwise fine today.
Injury no. 2: Gotowo twisted ankle with limping yesterday(hope all is as well as can be today Grant).
Stupid accident of the day no.1: Sirdropalot tripping out of trailer while loading bike and hitting ground like a big sack of spuds(and had already removed protective gear so ouch:silly: ).
Stupid accident no. 2: Sirdropalot flipping his bike forwards and being stuck under it like a big bag of crud…..again ouch:blush: .
Final summary stupid rider of the day goes to……..yes you guessed it Sirdropalot;) .
With Ralph and JD back at the top we were not sure if Gotowo was coming back up as he had said he may not. We waited a bit just in case as its not a place to meet someone coming the other way as going downhill you are pretty much just along for the ride(uphill as well for that matter;) ). After a bit it was decided I would head down and find him, only to come around a corner to see his bike laying on the ground looking much like I did last ride. Gotowo was exhausted so we picked the bike up and we faced it back to the bottom and after a rest we head on down. Down the bottom we were concerned that was going to be a bloody big chore on a Dr650 with not so suitable tyres so while Gotowo had a rest I went up another track to try and find an easier way back up to the others. I seemed to be just going further away so after a while turned and came back to find Ralph back down and saying Steve and JD were following. Steve apparently had a couple of offs on the way down but I think with that hill and that bike and tyres it was stuff legends are made of to even have a go well done mate. As we were all at the bottom I decided I wouldn’t go back up(thats my story and I am sticking to it, truth be told seeing Grant on the ground brought back bad memories from last ride:) ). We then head off up the track I had gone up trying to find an easier way down for Steve with me giving all the lads a warning about a hidden mud hole that had foot or more deep 4wd drive wheel ruts in it that I had hit at speed earlier and had been passenger to one heck of a ride I couldn’t believe I was still standing for on the other side. Although I had warned the others I still came upon it at speed again and went for pretty much the same ride:blush:. I stopped the other side to let the others know it was there with all taking diversionary action except for JD who for some reason was a long way behind and came upon us all stopped on the other side. Thinking we were stopped his side of it he kept the boot in and like me had no chance of stopping as he came up the hill to it and took the same crazy ride I did and luckily also came out the other side standing although looking at it from another prospective made it look even scarier:blink: . This track ended up being quite good with some good hills that all bikes could handle until we got to this rock fest.
It was another pretty hidden thing and sprung up while at pace so was just hang on and try and find a line, unfortunately mine was not the one and I got hung up on a tree root. This forced Ralph and JD to jump to the other side to miss me and that was the place to be with them going to the top. Steve had stopped to avoid me and we all decided that from a standing start he had a fight on his hands so we decided to turn around and TRY to find the cars for a lunch break.Ralph and JD coming back down
The tree root to the left was where my attempt came to an end so I still have plenty to conquer at Amamoor:laugh: .We rode a different way to first time, but I still managed to have us on tracks I hadn’t seen before seconds into the ride:unsure: . We rode through the muster site which is already starting to get a crowd camping there and came across some tracks so head off into them and although still having no idea where we were had a good time on some quite pleasant tracks with some challenging stuff but not over the top. Ralph and JD had travelled up from Brisbane to see this hill I had told them about that just continually drops down and I was hoping to find it but it wasn’t looking good with my sense of direction, so it was with great pleasure we came to a crossroad which looked familiar(although from a different direction to when I was last taken there:huh: ). As you can’t really see the track I still wasn’t sure but told the fellas I think this is Gentle Annie so expect a long ride on the brakes going down. Ralph, JD and Gotowo head down while Steve and I stayed up top for some happy snaps of the others. Ralph clocked it on his trip meter and it was a 1.1km continous drop to the bottom:blink:
Gotowo descending
JD
JD coming back up
Ralph coming back up
As usual pics don’t show steepness and how slippery but it was both:laugh: , here is a pic looking straight out at view.

Quote:Peter, I’m supposed to be working on saturday:angry: but will ask some mates if they are interested I will pass on start time info, my son Tom is interested if he can get a lift, I might even try and get out of work :woohoo: I rode the chook chase at Kenilworth last sat/sun and was going to have a weekend off but a rides a ride:laugh: Will confirm tomorrowSounds like a plan. I know its good now to not have to worry about working on the weekends. Will still be an exploration ride as won’t be anyone there with a lot of Amamoor knowledge. The boys from Brisbane just want me to find all the hills for them  if I can.
