Ha you may laugh but today was first day off the crutches 2 weeks post op. Mind you a 90 year old lady with a dicky hip overtook me as I was walking down the corridor at work. I got her back though, nothing like a quick ankle tap to bring her screaming to earth. See how good she is now with two dicky hips.

Thanks boys watching that was the best therapy I have had in weeks. Seemed wierd to be sitting on a kitchen chair but in my mind preparing for the next bit of the trail that was around each bend. There is a lot of satisfaction to be gained from riding or watching others ride the trails you have made.

The only good thing about being off the bike is the fun of looking over maps and google earth working out where all the next lot of trails are going in. Bring on 2014!!

I’ve just got back and put everything away. Mate you just missed out on a top day’s riding.
Mainly hung around the fire tower and did the steps (carnage), yeehaa (carnage), the pond (carnage), and sweet mother (and dare I say it more carnage). But otherwise a great day out .
I will wait till Bol or someone does a full report with photos and vids. It was a cracker

Also know as the nundle expeditionary clubhouse and meeting place for this and every years nundle ride and yes if you hide them out of direct site you can bring an adventure bike.

28 – Bull shit. although if you add your real age (44) to the age you act (12) and then divide the total by the number of times you have washed your bike (2). I can see how you come up with 28.

Read page one Andy you legend

Important information update see page one for expedition details.

Mal stop being nice to Bob it only encourages him.

Teach me oh learned ones! :P

Sorry ECKS but there are a few here that have learned the hard way lately. I know you said no braces but here is my spin its a subject close to my heart

Buy knee braces, cheaper then a reconstruction ;) You dont have a 3 to 5 month unexpected time sitting around (and self employed that hurts) ;) Protects from rocks and crap as good as guards ;) Bonus they prevent most knee damage it seems (ask the likes of Boulder, Crash and even me) Better to prevent then whine after (dont bother shutting the gate after the horse is out as someguys have sadly found out) ;)
Oh and some health funds will help with the purchase, my Asterisk braces are now over 6 years old and still going strong. Reckon they have done over 90k and over 2500 hrs of the two hour meters on the XR and Teneres (that doesnt count the other bikes I have ridden and there has been a heap of them) . At a klm rate they have cost me about 8 cents per 100kms or 3 cents an hour  Saved me huge once ;)

Oh knee guards alright I heard the EVS Epic Knee/Shin Guards are supposed to be good my nephews wear them and rave about them. Because you read my rant above I found you a link here

    TB

Cant help but read this and feel my name should be substituted everytime TB refers to learning the hardway. I spent $60 (mates rates) on a good pair of knee guards 4 weeks ago because I reckon I couldnt justify the money for braces. Now I am sitting at home with 5 holes in a stiff swollen leg post surgery and $3,000 (mates rates again) poorer not to mention using up 3 weeks sick leave (love governement jobs) and looking up which knee braces Im now going to buy so I can get back on the bike in 6 months.

Mind you my injury came from an embarrassing slow get off and was just a fuckup, have come off thousands of times and some pretty bigg get offs which I walked away from wearing only knee guards. Who knows what you should do – Shit Happens.

So bolls is back as a commoner we may need to rename the mountain. Sitting here in Sydney with my new knee but looking forward to now being the recovery/ teal lady for the nundle weekend, just a matter of teaching the new knee to bend now..
Ps don’t have a big feed a few beers and a red wine with a mate 6 hours after an operation, nothing like a lasagna and rd wine spew!

I’ll do a rider list later on today.
