What I found amazing was not the film but the fact Scott has a surname. We never hear anyone’s surname and you just start to think of people’s as Scott or STM , could this mean murph’s surname is not surf and that the kings surname is not bollocks?

So just a quick question have you actually written as much at work as you have on OBT in that time. Cant imagine 10000 articles in the Wauchope paper by mick.

Looks like fun Bob, will have to come and annoy you next year, but Ill just do half the ride that LC does seeing I only have a 250. come to think about it thats fair as I only weigh half what he does, eat half what he does, talk half as much shit and play with myself only half as much as he plays with himself.

    R Rick.

Just so we dont dissapoint you Rick here is the ride report.

We spent three days in the best bike country there is, rode till we were stuffed then rode somemore. No photos no videos just great riding. As Damus put it after one particularly brilliant bit —
It sure makes your glad your not dead.

Moist conditions, good temperatures forecast, bikes packed, eskies full and 3 days in single track heaven. Even Boony being there wont spoil a great weekend.

Is it ok to roost the sweep ?

never ever roost a sweep.

not the dude u want to get on the wrong side of. :cheer: ;)

After more thought I have to say there is one exemption……

    dare I say………..Pep u can roost Pep….

Tamworth manners insist that anyone but Damus is fair game. He is of limits not because hes the sweep but because he’s the mechanic. Sweeps are replaceable but a good mechanic isn’t . Oh yeah the local copper is not to be roosted either no matter how deep the mud or where he is in the pack

STM you can have the wave pool theres not enough water for it in Tamvegas but we will take the chick, she can show us how to surf the Peel anytime

Hard to argue with that Crash

in reply to: Leatt / other neck brace users responses please #232637

Chris I’d have to be in a bulk deal . It’s one of the shit parts of academic research that you have to be totally unbiased do you can’t just say to leatt that I’ll say it’s good f you give me one but having done the research and now with the lower prices I’d have to give one a go. Besides the thought of being a bevy is worse than riding a Katos.

in reply to: Leatt / other neck brace users responses please #232579

All the tests I did corresponded to leatts tests. It’s almost impossible to load the clavicles directly as the brace spreads the axial loading over the mid sternum.

Can’t we just get the basic findings in a 10 point version

    and your opinion

Do thhey cause more damage or not ??

    I’m being serious , I’m not being a wanker

Be more patient than me Bob, TB’s working on it. Understand first that these are my opinions from the research i conducted

    10 points
    1. They wont protect you in every situation neither will helmets condoms and airbags. Depends on the impact force.
    2. They work as claimed
    3. The features the manufacturer claim to reduce the risk of injury are valid if the device is worn properly
    4. Having had access to Leatts research papers I believe their device to be very well designed tested amd manufactured.
    5. Experiences of OBT”S who have had big offs while wearing them back up what I found.
    6. They will distribute force onto your sternum which will be sore afterwards, you will know that because your not a cripple. You have to remember the chest gets compressed massivley under cpr, we may break your ribs but at least your still alive.
    7. They do restrict the range of movement of your neck – good in a prang bad in tight up hill down hill stuff
    8. Bob is a wanker
    9. They wont break your collar bone . This breaks because your first action in a prang is to protect yourself by throwing your arm out to break the fall, your clavicle breaks from the impact not the brace.
    10. Would I wear one – seriously thinking of buying one particularly as the price on them has come way down

NOTE: ONLY the Leat brace was tested I cant verify other brands. Soft collar type devices were shown in some literature to be of minimal effect in reducing injury.
