Why not just use the hour meter in the honda speedo?
With all the extra bits Honda supplies did you think about going to the odometer Honda supply and flicking the flash one and did you do the electrical harness replacement or only the kill switch?
I am still in awe of the grunt these things have particularly given the size of the load it has to carry.

Certainly is a Friday ride Jethro. Single specials. Most are new, some are not even finished being set out they are that new! There is a mix of native and pine, fast and technical along with plenty of logs. Damus and I are finishing the set out this Thusrday and the boys will cut them in well over the next few weekends.

Chris I have noted some changes since the upgrade that may or not be related, could you check them out for me?

The DRZ has changed colour, displays honda signs, weighs bugger all and goes like a quoll with its nuts in a vice.

My ability to ride has greatly improved particularly in ground speed in tight stuff but my ability to jump trees is way less than my expectations.

The King Bollocks option still seems to crash regularly.
The Bob file appears to be short.
The Boony option still seems a little retarded and seems to missfire a lot and lastly
The Menace function seems to have aged a lot.
    Thanks Snowy

If you watch Futurama you may have already noticed the similarity between these two characters.

Life doesnt come much better than three days riding your favorite trails with a heap of mates and so it was that we headed of to the bush last Friday with the usual stop for food in Walcha but in what was to cause unfortunate repurcussions Boony failed to follow his usual routine and crack an 0800 tinny at the lookout. Got set up and six of us were on the trails by 1130 with the usual Friday activity of hunting down new trails, one of which was just where I had figured and just as bloody steep. We sent down two suckers, Damo and Paul while we kicked back at the top of the hill hoping we would see them again. Just as we were considering abandoning them to their fate my phone rang which is bizzare seeing theres f*** all coverage out there and its Damo on the other end calling to say they were stuck on a sippery steep bit and needed help. While Boony and I wanted to abandon them and ride on Polly insisted we do the right thing and offer assistance as shown in the first lot of Pollys images. Once together we rode on and played on a heap of known singles but failed to find the new ones we suspected to be present.

Boonys failure to follow routine was blamed for two huge getoffs, one by myself when while racing with Damo I discovered my real ability to jump tall trees was well below what I thought it was. The second saw Damo come to grief as he set a record for distance travelled while performing a handlebar handstand at 50 kmh while travelling sideways over slippery clay only 100m from camp. Only a large tree stopped him from completing his dismount perfectly. Shame about those bruises and pain!
Got back to camp to start a great social night with the rest of the crew who gradually rolled in, great effort from Col and Ben to get up from down Botany way. Group concensous on Saturday morning was the need to have the last two cans removed from every carton to avoid hangovers.

Saturdays ride was a sweet 35km singles run to get everyone warmed up and we flicked back to camp to let Damo remove more bits of fridays tree from his bike and his arse. King Bolls thought this was a lunch break so he quickly threw down a full chook, 2kilos of coleslaw and a complete cheese cake while everyone else had a museli bar. The second part of the ride was about 70 k of sweet cells singles that was at its best and with a ten man group of similar ability riders it went by very quickly and smoothly, def’ one of the best rides ever. We threw in a few tricky bits to test every one and the aptly named c*** creek caught most people causing the strapping up shots polly took. Very short sharp pinch straight out of a creek and all of it over orange dog shit clay. Boony followed me straight up but we took away any traction there was causing everyone else grief. The rest of the ride was just pure pleasure but we cut it a bit shorter than planed when there became too many simple get offs, as the group ran out of puff and Beer time was called. Another great night round the campfire as the recycling bin overflowed and filled Damos ute.

Sunday saw some tired stiff bodies so a nice short 40km run through the vines of kokoda and a few other favorites was done and we managed to get everyone through without too significant an injury.

Great ride in trail bike heaven with a great group of blokes it doesntget better.

Crash maybe I should have said the circuit is aimed to boil the shit out of one particular 650’s rider. Im sure the target rider will give as good as we give him but it makes the ride more interesting. Lugging a big bike round this track will be tough and there is virtually no where you can benefit from the extra power they bring, we punched four 250/s through the new part of the loop 13.5kms in 35 mins which only included a few short breaks and it is a real buzz. Combined with the other parts it promises to be a fun blast. Its certainly not for the feint hearted and has plenty of natural obstacles to bring nature and bike together but also to make you smile if your into singles.

Cant join you gold panning that Friday sorry Bolls Im going up to Nundle that weekend by coincidence but am just riding a never ending singles loop that I happen to have almost completed cutting in. While its almost flat it is technical, tight and aimed to boil the shit out of XR 650’s. if you dont like pine trees, logs, going fast past very close trees and having a bloody good time this will be one to avoid. To avoid destroying people there are regular scenic rest sections to have a short break between sections……….blah blah blah

Feels like a slap in the face with your glove there Snowy…….challenge style!

Now your in Club Red, you need to read the manual a little more closely……..it says “no giving it to a model that will still be going strong when doing the valves & dropping a piston & ring in your new little weapon for the 4th time!!!

I’ll be there, but I’ll be bringing the little 1/4 horse. The big girl has earned it’s time in ‘the long yard’ as Slim sang.
