What a sweet bike, pity I wasn’t more financial. I wouldn’t mind a Honda that stops and steers.

Yours steers its only you that’s the problem there

Yeah your right about opinions ECKS. If you can find someone that has the wear and protection I have had out off braces I will burn mine ;) again ask around. Around 800 for a set of asterisk braces.

I couldn’t bring myself to put your name down Snowy (heal fast mate)

Sorry ECKS but there are a few here that have learned the hard way lately. I know you said no braces but here is my spin its a subject close to my heart

Buy knee braces, cheaper then a reconstruction ;) You dont have a 3 to 5 month unexpected time sitting around (and self employed that hurts) ;) Protects from rocks and crap as good as guards ;) Bonus they prevent most knee damage it seems (ask the likes of Boulder, Crash and even me) Better to prevent then whine after (dont bother shutting the gate after the horse is out as someguys have sadly found out) ;)
Oh and some health funds will help with the purchase, my Asterisk braces are now over 6 years old and still going strong. Reckon they have done over 90k and over 2500 hrs of the two hour meters on the XR and Teneres (that doesnt count the other bikes I have ridden and there has been a heap of them) . At a klm rate they have cost me about 8 cents per 100kms or 3 cents an hour  Saved me huge once ;)

Oh knee guards alright I heard the EVS Epic Knee/Shin Guards are supposed to be good my nephews wear them and rave about them. Because you read my rant above I found you a link here

I love the fact 99% of my dirtbike needs are meet by local businesses. I also like the fact I’ve never been in one of these stores and heard them dumping shit on one another. I think that speaks volumes in the confidence they have in their own businesses and the products they sell.

Well said and very true ;)

To save yourself the grief maybe (although it will happen) try Brian @ Team Moto Yamaha Blacktown Scotty worth the drive or can send it you. Right parts EVERY TIME, will give you a discount if you tell him I sent you. He rings back and goes to the end of the earth to source your parts, a Champion bloke (doesnt work Tuesday I think it is  ) there is nothing in it for me, they arent a sponsor and I get nothing for it off course but to share good service to you

    Interesting eh

I am careful where i shop and from experience now days its Tekniks, Sutto’s and then Ballards that’s it for me.
Spending my money in Penrith over the years leads me to think and know that Exite yamaha are crooks plain and simple, Kelvin stocks nothing, Westerns lost my business years ago because off attitude and telling lies. R&D I tried years ago when I moved here and I stood at the counter for 10 mins cash and oil in hand and no one served me. I even rang the shop while I stood at the counter to tell them I was at the counter and I witnessed the phone ring out so I left and haven’t been back.
The fact that Tekink’s and Sutto’s are site sponsors is because of the service they provide, we have been asked by others trust me we do our research.
All that aside yeah we have choice Scotty, MCS have last years stuff and lots of stock on hand true but they aren’t any cheaper then anybody ;) maybe Sunday shopping now

Support when you can those that support us I say ;)

Mate like you said many a time yesterday there was no better way for you to get used to it. You said last night over a beer, you are now ride to ride it anywhere. It was better than you riding a few dirt roads  You can now ride that bike anywhere anytime and know what you can do on it.
It was after a big day and it was a big day that we only had one stop, we stopped at my mates business in Kempsey stood around out the front for 15mins (no freaken wonder we were hungry when we got home) The only other time we got off the bikes was to man handle trees down :pinch: Yes there were some turn arounds due to trees down but that happens all the time on per runs, roadworks messed with one track, the washed out bridge and crossing and finally hills getting to steep for the average punter on a loaded adventure bike. Honestly they don’t seem that steep on a 130kg trail bike :pinch: but how satisfying is it King on the big bikes. Hills were 2nd gear pinned and just holding it, it was wicked :woohoo:
Slippery was an understatement  decent rubber will be required. Next weekend I will try and get the remaining per run done with some help. Thus far the tracks have been all different but some great riding, some of the best we have done to date I reckon.
Wish we had taken a camera, this hills, that tree we broke up on the top of heart attack hill (named because of the tree down we broke up  ) it was a fantastic days riding with the King. Thanks for the accommodation see you next Friday night mate

This ride will be a cracker :woohoo:
