Mr Blue, you are correct a stock XR650 does not produce 60HP, mine only produces 63 and has a lot of work done to it (measured at the rear wheel) Check this figures with Steve. Gearboxes would be the issue I think with the wheel slipping and then grabbing traction again, its a problem desert racing with all 450’s as the gearbox size is small compared to the hp the engines are capable of which is why cushion drive hubs are used.
