I had a Honda VFR400 NC30 (Rothmans race colours) road bike which I rode to work and back every day for a year. I cained the absolute nuts off it every single day, and from cold too. I never filled it with oil, never did an airfilter, spark plug, oiler the chain or anything and it kept on ripping.

I sold it to a guy who lived on the Isle of Wight, he came with his family to look at it and his eyes beemed when he saw it and heard it start up. He bought it there and then and died 4 months later when he rode it under a lorry :(

RIP to ol’ mate and the bike.

No good about old mate, Isle of wright, is that near Isle of man?

    Not really.

Is it similar sort of layout roads farms country sort of thing?

    Not really :p

    Thanks :P

Depends on many a thing Glen, I used to run WER dampers and they are zero resistance return, good thing can be a little fiddly to fit depends on the bike as far as the frame pivot goes but good thing.

Fitted a ROC Stompa to the DRZ project bike, good thing its over bar mount see the suzuki thread on the project bike (got it through Battyes see the links section and ask for fathead if you ring), I have a MSC under bar mount which lifts your bars nice and high but requires buying a different top triple tree. If you stand a lot these are the go, don’t get the damper punched through you chest as a over the bar mount could.

Crash has a Scott’s from the states under bar mount, he tried to buy a MSC but their sales support and service sucks big time so he got the Scott through Battyes from the states

Ballards sell WER’s, easy can be moved bike to bike as well, keep an eye on the bolts with the WER, Ollie had one come loose and cause a crash and Crash damaged his in a crash and this caused a crash once he got going at the next corner, man would love to have seen that!

Buy a WER, for yourself my thought

Point here is that Yamaha knew about it, Chris’s dealer knew about it and no one has done anything which is poor by Yamaha and by the dealers like Chris’s!

Back on topic now Stevens organised :P

Mick is Hollis going to be out there and are they using the sprint track from the weekend? Crash rode a 510 down the high country recently and was surprised by the vibration, be interested in your thoughts as you have been riding for years, not a johnny come lately ;)

Actually Ecks I am surprised by how good mine is on the road (NX that is) Sits on 105 real good, will hold along at 110 if you want and does 120 I know that, steers nice handle great and so much cheaper than the bikes you mentioned and way more capable of road, best thing I have spend my hard earned on in a while ;)

I have ordered my panniers today and will be using the above to set mine up :)

Yeah good Dave, should be able to bust him up some, meet a guy on the weekend that you took riding on one of his first rides, busted ribs etc ring a bell! Still hides under the tables at the club everytime he heard a motorbike

Boony be warned, Dave is a nutter on a motorbike :woohoo: and does not represent the OBT trail manners and nature of the rest of us on a bike, everyone I meet says he is a nutter on a bike :woohoo: and the type of sweep that passes everyone yelling at them or destroying motorcycles trying to pass them :( . Dave admits the abulance drivers are on first name terms with him around home:ohmy: , he is a great bloke dont get be wrong I love the fruit cake but he is not the normal old bull
